;) Hi ladies!

Just wanted to stop back in and thank you all for the great advice. It made me feel so much better.

I had to cancel my appt yesterday because I had a terrible :stars: headache and all I could do was sit in the dark with my eyes closed.

It's finally gone, but it took almost the entire day to be rid of it. :rollpin:

I am going to reschedule it for later this week. I will keep you all posted. In the meantime I am going to scour the other LAWL threads. :)

My son starts Kindergarten tomorrow! He is so excited and I am too. It's bittersweet! :sunny:

Hi everyone! I go to the center today on the way home from work. Then I will "know" how my 2 day take off really went. Should have went yesterday because I was feeling thinner - but I haven't done anything differently so I'm sure the result will be the same. I'm not a juice drinker, never had been, but I have to admit - what a nice change to have something that tasted so yummy.

Has anyone tried the Smoothies? I purchased the strawberry banana a couple of weeks ago. You use it as a fruit replacement. Well, I made it a couple weeks ago in the blender. It was good, but I hate washing out the blender or having to get it out each time I want to use it. Today, I didn't have any fruit in the house, so brought the Smoothie mix with me to work. We have an ice machine here at work, so I put some ice in a sports bottle, a scoop of the mixture and some water and did some shaking for a few minutes and it turned out just fine. Do you remember what a banana tastes like? Yum!

Karen: Glad you had a nice weekend. I'm sure the 6 lbs will be off before you know it, or just in time for the next big race.

Star: Thanks for the information and the how-to's. I'll check out User CP. :)

June and Kristi: Thanks for asking about take off. I can't wait to weigh-in (did I say that? LOL).

Kristi: I agree - I was sick to staying on plan and staying the same. Hope take off does it's majic today!

Aim, have you tried the biscotti? I tried it the first week of plan, and for me - I would rather have 'real' starch and a 'real' piece of fruit because after eatting the biscotti - I was hungry shortly after. Just MHO.

Pink: Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope your not making excuses for not keeping your appointment and going to LA. The sooner you go, the happy you will feel about yourself. The weight does comes off doing this plan. Glad that your headache is gone, now call the center and make that appointment. Did you read the most current issue of Woman's World? The person on the cover went to LA and lost 77 lbs. She looks just awesome. In that magazine, it says that you can bring the article into any center and get the weekly price down to $5/week. The magazine only cost $1.49 so it's well worth it. Hope to see you back soon.

Beach: Glad your back and I'm wondering the same thing about the earlier group of ladies. I hope that didn't give up on the plan (Hi everyone who's just a reader). I have PM'd Diane and she is doing fine - just too busy to post but I believe she still reads? I haven't heard a word from Meltin since her last post when she returned from Philly. Hope things are well for her as I believe Charleston has been hit twice by hurricanes in the past month, and the new one Frances 'may' be headed that way again. Okay, we can complain about the cold weather, and all the rain this summer but it's nothing like they have been experiencing in the south with these past few hurricanes. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I would take a huge snow storm over that. I still can't believe that my fingers even allowed me to type that?! LOL!

I'll be back later after going to the center. Sy

Morning Chicks!!

:coffee: Hi, Just got in to work and read all the new posts. This thread is so awesome

June, I'm with you, this thread is so informative. Ya'll are full of it (information) ;)
Sammy, You can do homework, watch a 2 & 4 year old and still worry about your scale being correct? I forgot I use to be able to multitask. The cool thing about being a grandma is that you drop everything and put all attention on spoiling the grandbabies rotten. That's called payback :D
Pink, Hope your headache is gone today. It's a big day for you and your son , hope it goes great and don't be too sad  Just ask June, the teachers will give him back at the end of the day....
Fiona, RE: eliptical machine, see I told you there was something better for you out there, now start walking outside and save those pennies.....Oh, my Weight -O-Meter loved me again this morning...my weight was back to what's posted after alittle "damage control" from the wedding weekend. :dizzy:
Kristi, Good luck with your Take-off, I know you will do great....
Amy, Even if you didn't get measured when you signed up at LA (the cult), it wouldn't hurt to have it done now. Anytime we see numbers go down, it'a a good thing.....
Karen, How's your damage control going :?: I'm sure you'll be back down by Friday. You and I are pros at that :o Hope you don't have to work that hard today. I'll talk to you in a minute either way
Beach & Sy.....Hi, have a good day....
Okay I'm running out of incons......... HUGS

Good Morning Everyone,

I know my post is late this morning. I've been setting up a February vacation during the winter break from school. Took me all morning to get everything straightened out - I guess everyone wants to get away then. Anyway, it's something to look forward to, and hopefully I'll be on maintenance by then :))))))))))

Kristi: I think you mentioned that it's just about TOM - so I think between the 2 Day Take Off and water loss after TOM, you're going to see that drop to 130 and maybe even a little more!!! How nice will that be!!! Good luck - you'll get there!!!

Star: Great job on that damage control!!! You go girl!!!

Sammy: Did you survive the separation anxiety from the first day of school. I remember when my first one went off. I think it's tougher on the moms. But Star is right, we do send them home at the end of the day :)))

Fiona: Good advice on the scale addiction - I am going to have to try it out!!!

Pink: Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know the first step to actually getting yourself to the LA consult is a big deal - just do it - you'll be glad you did :)))) Hope to hear good news soon.

Aim: Definitely get those measurements taken at your next visit. I agree - it certainly helps to see the inches peeling off. They will measure you once a month - so get a reference point going with them.

SY: Glad to hear the Take Off is going well for you - I know you're going to have great results when you weigh in and I'm anxious to hear from you!!! I bought the LAWL Pina Colada Smoothie Mix when it was first introduced, and I love it. You can even taste the cocoanut, which like banana is not on program - and boy was it good!!! I have a Smoothie Maker at home - they are very inexpensive and much more convenient and easier to clean than blenders. You might want to pick one up. It doesn't take up much space on my kitchen counter, so it's always handy to use. You might be able to pick one up at Target very inexpensively now since summer is just about over.

beachlover: Glad you enjoyed your vacation and good luck catching up on the posts!!!! There are so many - but it's so wonderful.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. Big Hugs to All. I'll check back later.

June

Kristi - Chocolate lovers uniting is a beautiful thing......your husband sounds like a wonderful person........I think he's just alittle jealous due to your male neighbor that is stalking you now....

beachlover 09-01-2004 01:45 PM

Hi all, Sy good luck at weigh-in today. I'm sure you will do well. I weighed in this a.m. and am the same. Hoping for a loss to show up on Friday. We're having pasta tonight - tomatoes and basil from our (very small) garden and easy on the olive oil. DH gets to have garlic bread!! Kristi isn't it great when people who you don't think would notice your weight loss do? I have a neighbor like that and when she sees me go on my walks she calls me "skinny" which is something I've never been called before. Good luck op to June, Fiona, Pink,Amy, and Karen. I think I'm getting everyone straight. Hope I didn't miss anyone!

aimtastic 09-01-2004 02:39 PM

Good afternoon everyone!

Sy - Good luck at weigh in. I have tried the biscotti and I absolutely love the chocolate ones. They're the closest thing to an Oreo I'll get in the next 11 months, and I'll gladly sacrifice a fruit and a starch for that!

Star & June - They got my measurements on Monday, so at least I've got that to go by. It would have been nice to see what kind of change I had so far, though. I think I remember measuring my waist for something a few months ago, and what LA came up with on Monday was 3 inches down from that, so yay!

Kristi - I'm in the same boat as you; no change at weigh in this morning. Good luck with the Take Off! Apparently I'm not eligible for Take Off or the supplements right now because my blood pressure is too high, although it has already come down considerably since I started at LA.

Amy

Star 09-01-2004 03:23 PM

Amy - I think I missed it but, how tall are you? They didn't measure me either at LA, just one time after I had been going for awhile. I should get remeausred too......I love to see numbers go down, down, down..........

aimtastic 09-01-2004 03:47 PM

I'm 5'8". I was looking at the little chart on the wall the other day at LA and it says my goal weight should be something like 136, but I'm shooting for 150. Once I reach 150 and see how that looks (last time I was 150 was probably 6th grade when I was about 6 inches shorter), I'll decide whether I want to keep going lower than that.

**edit: typo**

vibrantecho 09-01-2004 03:49 PM

They measured me at my initial appointment but didn't tell me what the numbers were - probably a good thing, the shock might have killed me... I really really can't wait for my first comparative measuring. They do this cool thing at my center where they have a bulletin board full of colored ribbons of different lengths - each ribbon is a client and the length shows how many inches they've lost! :) I want to be on the ribbon board. I'm also hoping to "officially" break the 5-pound mark at tomorrow's weigh in so that I can put my name up on the pounds-lost board as well. (I have a little thing for recognition, maybe??)

Amy, congratulations on getting your blood pressure down - that's a huge step forward, too! :D

Here is my soliloquy for the day on why I love LAWL: I've been doing it for two and a half weeks now, and already I feel different! I feel healthier, I'm happier because I know I'm doing something good for me, I have more energy! I feel thinner! :D Probably just less bloated, but hey, water weight is still weight. I knew after last weekend and not really tracking what I was eating that it wasn't going to be a good weigh-in...my body just didn't feel as good as it does on the days when I stick to the plan. This is so exciting for me because it means I'm doing something that I can stick with, because it feels good! DH commented the other day that I seemed more down than usual, and I realized I'd kind of hit a mental wall - I knew I was doing a good thing but it really made me take a look at myself and I kind of went "Oh my god, what have I done to myself!" I had to stop focusing on how much I disliked being fat and just go back to being glad I was eating better and all that good stuff that I loved when I first joined LAWL. Three weeks seems to be about my willpower barrier - when I start to lose that really strong motivation and start to let things slide. I'm so glad I got through it. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Star - so glad you reminded me! When I first started to post here it was a really small group and not very active. Now it's entirely different and so much better! Six lashes with a wet noodle for forgetting! I'll do better next time!

Hi all!

Just have a quick second to post it looks like everyone is doing so well and congrats Amy on the blood pressure!!!

I weighed in this morning and was down 2.2!!!!! I am so close to having my 10lb avitar hopefully when I weigh in on Friday I can post with a new avitar!!!

You all have been so supportive and I thank you all for that without this sight I am quite sure I would have thrown in the towel!

Kristi- How many M&M's do you think we could have as a starch? I think I would give up a starch for a big old handful!

Hugs and congrats to all I have school tonight and DH is painting and my 4 year old keeps Touching!!

:stars: I have another headache! I can't believe this.

I did make an appt and go in today.

I am really glad I did.

I had NO idea you had to pay for the entire program up front. I really thought you paid week to week or something. Is this the norm? I have never been to any type of center like this before.

I go in for my second appt tomorrow and am taking my dh along. :D

My measurements and weight were both scary, but that is why I am doing this, right?!

pinkpenguin 09-01-2004 08:41 PM

Oops! I hit reply too soon and had more to say!

I have some questions I am hoping someone can answer for me. I have tried sifting through this thread as well as some other LAWL threads and have not really found the answer.

What is the cleanse they told me about today? They were very brief about it and did not go into detail. How much is it or is it part of the amount I already paid?

Since I had to pay almost $900 today I would like to minimize any other costs. I know they want my money, but I want my money, too. Is there a way to kindly tell them that you will not buy the cleansing products (if you have to that is) and buy something else some place else?

How much are the bars in bulk? She was sort of evasive about it when I asked. Not sure if it was just me reading into her or what, but it was a strange thing to me.

Thanks guys! :)
