I just did take off on Monday and Tuesday! As of this morning I was down 3.3 pounds!!!!

KityKat-- My has been closed since last January, so I have used Knudsens Morning Blend juice for take off. I mix 6oz of juice with 2oz of water for one serving. Some people add fibersure to this mixture as well. I just did take off on Monday and Tuesday and I used the oranges. I have seen two different versions for the oranges, but I ate 1/2 orange for each serving of juice. I liked the oranges because I did not seem to get as tired as I do with the juice and I was able to eat every few hours.

Everyone is doing so well. I am so proud of all of you. Keep up the good work Girls!!!! Cecil- the Hollywood juice is much cheaper and it is what I will try this time too. I know they have it at Walmart and Walgreens. I have not been able to find the Knusdens juice. Welcome to all who are just joing us. I love reading the post and it constantly inspires me to keep going.

Kennedy- I do think we need a new challenge maybe from Memorial day to the 4th of July. I saw one on a different thread they called it the Thindepence challenge. I thought that was quite clever.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday. I was watching the weather and it looked like everywhere was going to be pretty this weekend. Great weather seems to inspire me to do well.
I got this in an email from Jillian Michaels and thought I would share because loosing weight in my Arms are a major obstacle for me..
Concentration Curls
1. Hold a dumbbell in your right hand and sit on the edge of a bench or a chair with your feet a few inches wider than your hips.
2. Lean forward from your hips, and place your right elbow against the inside of your right thigh, just behind your knee. The weight should hang down near the inside of your ankle.
3. Place your left palm on top of your left thigh. Exhale and bend your right arm, curling the dumbbell three-quarters of the way up toward your shoulder.
4. Hold for a beat, then inhale slowly, lowering the weight, and repeat. Do a complete set (10 to 15 reps) on one arm, then switch to the other.
The concentration curl really helps isolate the biceps by taking any assistance from the back and shoulders totally out of the equation. Be careful not to cheat

Have a great Thursday!!!1

I got this email and thought I would share this recipe with everyone especially Cecil. I know you said you have missed drinking maybe this would interest you????

Tropical Mangorita from Hungry Girl...
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Diet V8 Splash in Tropical Blend
1/4 cup frozen unsweetened mango chunks
1 shot (1 1/2 oz.) blanco or silver tequila (the clear kind)
1/4 tsp. Crystal Light Lemonade powdered drink mix (1/4th of an On The Go packet or 1/16th of a tub)
1 cup crushed ice OR 5 - 8 ice cubes

Directions:
Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

MAKES 1 SERVING

HG Alternative! Swap the alcohol for extra Diet V8 Splash. Your non-alcoholic sipper will contain 40 fat-free calories, 10g carbs, and 1g fiber (POINTSŪ value 1*). Sweet! not sure what it would be for LAWL

I am guessing all the stores are set up similar. In the medicine/vitamin section where they have some of the slimfast, luna bars ect. Is where I have seen it. I have never used it for take off before. But kennedy said she has and others have mentioned it for take off as well. It is a fasting juice is what the label indicates and I think you are actually not suppose it eat actual food just drink the fasting juice if I remember reading the instructions correctly. I am sure that it would work the same. A lot of people also recommend the Knusden morning blend and to add some benifiber or something to it. I guess we try it and see if it works. I believe if you eat only lean meat and only green veggies you are bound to loose something? I have also read some eat an orange instead of the take off juice. 4 oranges a day?

Talking Checking in from work (Help - I want to go home)

Heather5: Welcome too you. I am excited that you joined our Summer Slim Down Challenge. I used to have the same problem with posting then stopping then posting again. But ever since this thread started I love to poke my head in every day just to see what's cookin with the gang. Everyone here is so great. So of course you can join in. Keep those posts coming. Also, congratulations on the weight you lost after doing Take-Off. I truly believe that the who "Take-Off" period is so awesome and gets people excited and brings them the hope that yes I can do this. Good luck to you on your journey.

Cecil: Yes the 48 Hour Miracle Juice diet is cheaper than the actual LAWL Take Off Juice. I use it all the time. If you do buy it do not follow the directions on the label use it the same way you would use the LAWL TO Juice. So that would be the unlimited amounts of protein along with unlimited green veggies. Once I get home I will post some information (maybe I will PM everybody) on how to use the juice and for those who want to do it with oranges. Mommyofsix is right the juice is kept in the same aisle as the Slimfast drinks, Luna Bars etc... If you have a Vitamin Shoppe in your area check it out.

Mommyofsix: Yes the weather is going to be great. I think I am going to go to NYC to Central Park. I have never been there. It would be a nice day to take the bus and subway. Everyone tells me that it is such a nice place filled with people.

JerseyMadChen: I am thinking about ya!
-------------------------------------------
Do you think we should all try to come up with a name for our new Memorial Day thru Independence Day challenge?

Will chat later

Every bit of it and even tried to scrap the cup with my spoon (ha, ha, ha). I put grapes in it just like "Cecil" said she ate her's and it was good. So thank you Cecil. I bought a different kind the one I bought was:
Friendships Spreadable Lowfat Cottage Cheese
1% Milk Fat
Whipped (maybe because it was Whipped allowed me to swalloow it easier"

Kennedy- good to hear from you and congrats on the cottage cheese. I know that was quite an accomplishment for you and great job on trying new things.

Cecil-I hope you find the 48 hour miracle juice. My mom called me yesterday and said she started back at LAWL and bought me some takeoff and some slim down shakes. I know it sounds crazy but I think my mom feels guilty about my weight gain, like it might be her fault. She worked a lot while I was little and did not teach us good eating, exercise habits we did a lot of fast food. I told her I am 33 years old with 6 kids I think I am responsible for my own actions, but I know you never stop being a mom.

Hope everyone has a great and on plan day.

I read this and thought I would post it, it is from Jillian Michaels website about what body type most women are:
  • The apple shape. People with apple shapes tend to store fat in their upper bodies, so if an apple is carrying extra weight, it's usually around the belly. Apples have evolved to store fat in this way to adapt to long periods of famine. Fat stored in the upper body can lead to heart disease, so it is important for apples to be health conscious.
  • The pear shape. Pears hold the majority of their fat in the lower body: hips, buttocks, saddlebags. Pears are mostly women. This shape has evolved because fat stored in these areas aids in fertility and breast-feeding. This type of fat is not as much of a health risk as abdominal fat, but it is harder to lose.
  • The proportioned shape. Lucky proportionate have fat cells distributed equally throughout their entire body. When they gain weight, they gain it everywhere. When they lose weight, it comes off evenly.
I am a proportioned pear shape. I gain weight all over yet have the most trouble loosing it in my hips.legs,rear...

Congtratulations on the one pound loss. Cecil- you are doing so great.

When I do takeoff, I usually eat lean turkey and chicken, I think the hot sauce would be fine.

Now on the old takeoff plan they say unlimited lean meats and green veggies. on the Takeoff I got when I started LAWL 6 weeks ago it stated to only consume 6oz of protein all day and unlimited green veggies. 6oz all day is very very hard. So I am not sure which plan I will follow. But I am excited about TO too. I need a loss soon.

WOW!! I really like this group! I am really excited that I joined. Thanks for all the welcomes, and advice. I would LOVE to do the take off with all of you! I will go to walmart and see what they have, I don't think I have enough time to order off of ebay. There were a few different juices mentioned. Not sure what the best is. I guess I prefer the easiest one to get at the local store if possible. And try not to spend a ton.
I was told when my location closed that I could use cantalope instead of juice, I HATE cantalope. So this orange thing, I am totally interested. Not my favorite, but I can tolorate.
Yes, food ideas is exactly what I am looking for. I was on the gold/yellowish plan. I have the food book still and I also have the book for the express 4 week I think. I have never tried the 4 week though. Is anyone up for trying the take off starting Monday and then doing the 4 week express. Not sure where everyone else is at, but for myself I am looking to kick my butt into overdrive and get this going!! I need it I have gained, and feel miserable!! I will check in later.

Regarding the jillian michaels, I think I am apple shaped. I store most of my weight in my belly.

WIth the old and new protein portions while on take off, I would think if the old way worked, that is probably what I will do. I am totally a meat eater!!
