Talking It's 12:54 am here in NJ

Hello and I gues good morning to everyone! I know, I know it is late. I am trying to catch up on some homework.

Mommyofsix: I know it is frustrating, but hang in there! What plan are you on? I am currently on the purple. I know when I started someone recommended me to start of the Red Plan. I lost a first and then stopped dead in my tracks. Then I said well let me do the Purple Plan and that was it as soon as I switched the weight started to go down. So good luck when you talk to the counselor. Let us know what they recommend.

Amy I am sorry about you not losing that sucks. Hopefully they can figure it out at the center. Great job staying on plan! What plan are you currently on?

Hi Kennedy! Did you have a good weekend?

I was off plan this weekend. I didn't eat that much. But it wasn't on plan. So back on plan today... I didn't WI today because I had an appt and didn't hagve time. So I guess I will just wait until Wednesday to WI. We tried a few new restaurants this weekend and they were amazing!

Where is Cat??

Hope you all have a great POP day!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say hello. I am thinking of actually starting to pack up my bathroom starting with the scale. I don't know how healthy I will be able to eat the next week and a half with moving and all. I am just planning on taking my vitamins every day and getting my water in most importantly. I will try to make the best decisions I can with the rest!

Hope you guys are having a nice day, it's MISERABLE here!!

Hello Everyone!

I got back late last night after spending the past 3 days in DC on an 8th grade field trip. I had a lot of fun with the kids, but now I am exhausted and I feel yucky!!! I did nothing but eat junk food and fast food all weekend. The food was included in the trip, so I did not have a lot of choice in the food I ate. I am so glad to be back, so I can get on track!

Here is my plan to get back on track:

1) Do take off Wednesday and Thursday

2) Follow a combination of LAWL and WW

My mom did WW a while ago, so I have some of her stuff. Things always come up and it can be so hard to stay on plan. I think if I use a combination of both, then it will be easier for me to follow. The only thing that I can do is give it a try and see what happens!

I am off to bed, so I can catch up on my sleep. Talk to everyone later!

Heather

Good morning to you all. Sounds like everyone is doing well and staying on plan. I must say that this thread is what keeps me motivated to stay on plan. To see how well everyone is doing and to see that the weight can come off and stay off. I have decided that I am going to stay on plan today until saturday. I am not making any subsitutes or waivering in anyway. I will weigh and measure everything as well as get in all my water plus some extra. I think I am going to cut out some of the carbs/starches and maybe limit the dairy a little bit. I have been reasearching weight loss and I have always been lactose intolerant but was always told by my mother and others how important it is to get calcium and dairy. I am wondering if my issues with dairy could be some of my weight gain/loss issues. Also I am a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars and I read in an old people magazine the dancers diets and most of them limit carbs and most do not have any carbs after 3pm. I wonder if there is something to that.
anyway we will see if any of it works for me.

I need a loss in a major way. I feel I have plateaued and need some kind of boost.

So I am going to try some different food combinations and limitations and see what works.

Hope everyone has a wonderful on plan Tuesday!!!

I think limiting carbs after 3pm is a great idea! In fact, I don't know if I saw the scale move when I added exercise or if it was the combination of that plus no carbs after my late afternoon snack. Only protein and veggies for dinner....

Hi Girls!! Wow I need to catch up LOL

Well....TO not so well. I lost 3 pounds, then TOM showed up (thankfully!!) and I put the 3 pounds back. I feel better though I have to admit. I did the slimfast for the folowing three days so maybe overall it's just TOM!! I am hoping to go full force after vacation.

KEnnedy: SOrry to hear about the -0- better luck to us both next time. NExt week I will try again.
**I have a question, my husband is doing this diet with me. While I was doing the TO I did the juice and my husband ate two oranges per day with the same foods and he was able to keep of two pounds. So I think next time I might try that since the juice is not the greatest and it will cost less for me to buy oranges? Has anyone else had this luck?

I am a little upset with myself since I am going to Vegas on Thursday and am still the same exact weight as I started!! URGH!!
I am still excited to go though, I will miss my kids, and hubby as I have not left my kids that long before!
I'll check in later.

Berry Nice! This recipe is from Hungry Girl!!!Happy Cinco de Mayo! We've whipped up a whole new FREEZE-TASTIC margarita recipe just for you, so we hope you're ready to party. Humans, start your blenders...

Ingredients:
3/4 cup Sprite Zero (or any diet lemon-lime soda)
One shot (1.5 oz.) tequila
One serving (half a packet or 1/8th of a tub) sugar-free strawberry powdered drink mix (any variety, like Crystal Light Strawberry-Kiwi or Energy Wild Strawberry)
4 frozen unsweetened strawberries
2 tbsp. lime juice
1 cup crushed ice or 5 - 8 ice cubes
Optional Garnish: lime wedge

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until uniform and slushy.

Pour into a nice glass and, if you like, garnish with a wedge of lime.

Drink up!

MAKES 1 SERVING

Serving Size: 1 margarita (entire recipe)
Calories: 125
Fat: 0g
Sodium: 24mg
Carbs: 7g
Fiber: 1g
Sugars: 2g

HG Alternative! If you're under 21 (or just dance funny when you're tipsy), try this virgin version -- simply swap the tequila for an extra 1/4 cup of the soda. That liquor-less slushfest clocks in with only around 28 calories and a POINTS® value of 0*.

Well I feel back on track for now anyway. I stayed on plan yesterday and limited my carbs and dairy and did 30 minutes cardio. I always feel better when I stay on plan but boy is it easy to slip a little. My number one weakness is icecream and everywhere I look now is ice cream. My mother in-law asked for an ice cream maker for mothers day and i informed my husband that I would prefer not to get an ice cream maker as I hate hate hate making things I can not eat. He got a weird look on his face which indicates to me that it has already been purchased, he for some reason always buys me and his mother the same thing even though we are nothing at all alike. I guess it is just easier for him.

Anyway, it is raining here suppose to be severe. Not looking forward to that. It is however easier to be at work when it is rainy rather than sunny. I just like the sunshine better. But my grass, veggies and flowers need the rain.

Hope everyone is having a great and on plan day and that everyone survived Cinco de mayo!

I mentioned in the other thread but thought it deserved a second mention here on the Slimdown. on lifetime TV they have a new show called cook yourself thin. It is 2 women who teach you how to substitue veggies and other things into recipes to cut down on fats, calories, carbs and sugars. I was able to watch the first episdoe last night and it is great. I went on lifetimes website and they have the recipes available along with a lot more. I have not tried any but will try a recipe this weekend. I have seen recipes similar to these but it was great to see someone prepare the food and show you those little tricks the pro chefs use. The first show they made cupcakes with zuccini. it sounds good. so we will see. I just wanted to share the info.

Default Trying to Catch up (lol)

Momof3kidos: Sorry for not responding to you sooner. Are you still with us? TO means Take Off Juice or similar juice that we all tend to use once in awhile to flush out/clean out the toxins in our system. We use it every now and then when we need to jump start our weightloss journey. If you look at the previous posts we have lots of information about the juice such as what type is used and how it is used and how long we use it and then what we do after we use it for those two days. Also I always use the search feature on the forum if I have a question about something. Cause 9 out of 10 times someone has asked the question before. Good Luck on your journey if you need more information please let us know.

Heather5: I hope you had fun in DC. I myself would like to take a trip there with my son. Good Luck with starting TO don’t worry about what you ate on your trip. What ever happens in DC stays in DC and yes that includes our bad food choices. Just get right back on the ball and you will be fine. Good Luck on your take-off.

Mommyofsix: I heard of that before just recently from someone else who said something about no carbs after 3:00 pm. Maybe it is worth a shot. I know that I usually have my Carbs first thing in the morning and at lunch time. I rarely have them in the evening. Sometimes you have to play around with the food options to get it just right. Wow an ice cream maker. Ice cream is not even allowed in my house. I tell my son that if he wants ice cream he better be prepared when the ice cream trucks pulls up to the curb. Somehow ice cream knows my name and calls me in the middle of the night. I just can’t have it in the house (ha, ha, ha) – good luck with the machine though. Also you have a veggie garden that is awesome. I love fresh veggies. Thanks for the information about the new cooking show on Lifetime. I need to make sure I check it out.
Almsthere: If I didn’t welcome you before….Welcome to the thread.

KityCat: The only thing that I can tell you is to not dwell on those pounds you lost and someone how regained with TOM. When TOM leaves you will see that weightloss return to the scale as long as you have been following to the plan. In terms of the TO with the oranges, I have not done it in so long but back when I did do it I remember the results were always good. I think next time I do TO it will be with the oranges though. Maybe we can all do TO that way and compare the difference. My hubby started the plan with me as well and it looks like he might have lost already 10-15 pounds. His face looks smaller and younger his skin also looks great. He seems to feel good too. He was on the LAWL plan before after he saw me lose about 70 pounds and he himself ended up losing about 60 pounds. Then of course we both allowed food temptations to come over us and we both ballooned back up. But this time we plan to lose and keep it off. Good luck on your trip to Vegas is it for business or pleasure? I myself have to go to Atlantic City for a conference in June for 4 days and I am not sure how I will wing it. I myself have never left my son alone not even for a day. I would like then to both come down with me but hubby can’t break away from work and my soon has too many days absent already to take for more. So I might have to cancel this year or figure out away to go.

Cecil: I hope you had a great weekend when your friends were in town. Sorry I did not get a chance to ask you earlier. You are doing great…it seems as if you have a lot to juggle around and make sure you try to get some rest to avoid burnout.

JerseyMadchen: We are thinking about you hope your move is going well.
