Hay Cat! I checked out wal-mart last night and they do have the juice it is called hollywood I think or 24 miracle juice. Anyway you will recognize it. It looks like TO juice. And it was abou $15.00. Which isn't terrible.

Didn't you say you just did TO? You may not want to do again so soon?
I am on 4 week express right now until 05/04. Which means no alcohol and none of the good starches and limited everything. HA! UGH! Can't wait till may 4th!

Hey Cecil thanks for the wonderful message about my progress. Do you know I decided to peek at the scale while no on was looking and it said I gained 2 pounds. Boy I jumped off real fast and acted like I never jumped on it. Now that is why I don't even weigh myself every week cause seeing that could be quite disappointing. I rather keep to my once a month. Yipee Eye Aye! You go Girl on the 1 pound weight loss. See it's melting off.

Mommyofsix: Good for you with getting the TO Juice and Slimdown Shakes from mom. It seems like you are all set and ready to go. When you get a chance can you type in the Nutritional Information on the shakes. I would like to compare them to other's on the market. I believe the information I have on Slimdown Shakes might be old. Also based on the shapes I think I need to create a new category "Proportioned Apple" ha, ha, ha.

KityKat: I am happy you like this thread. I believe that this thread is what is keeping me excited about the whole thing. I have done Take Off the old way before the juice and the new way with the juice. I kind of stick to more of the old ways because they have worked well for me. There are some people who are using the numbered plans I don't know what they are but I am afraid to venture out to something new (but that is just me). What day we will start the Take Off I am not sure. I think MommyofSix mentioned it might be easier for her to do it during the work week. Well let's see what everyone decides on.

My Take Off Phase Plan - 2 Days
  • 48 Hour Mircacle Drink mix 16 oz. of drink with 16 oz of water. I shake it up and sip all day long.
  • I drink my 64 oz of water throughout the day
  • I eat unlimited amounts of ground turkey and chicken legs and chicken breasts. They say you can eat it with the skin but I remove it. I grill or bake my meats.
  • I eat 2 lg eggs a day (boiled, scrambled -- prepared with spray)
  • I eat lots of green salad with green peppers and cucumbers
  • I eat green peppers and cucumbers alone (if I am on the go I put them in ZipLock Bags)
  • I eat cooked or steamed brocolli
  • I eat grilled chicken salads
  • Maybe a grilled steak
  • I cook ground turkey and dice green peppers with it
  • I order chicken and brocolli at the chineese restaurants

I have done Take Off without the Juice. It would be same way as I described above but you would just eat 2 Oranges a day for two days.
You would eat 2 large eggs per day and all you can eat meat and green veggies. Of course they suggest you eat the veggies raw but I loved cooked brocolli.

No I have not done the take off in over a year, I have not had any stuff (juice) or knowledge of anything else to replace with. I am excited though. Not too sure if I can do the 4 week express right now. I am going to vegas in two weeks, and I know I will be drinking. I know that must sould horrible. To not do something to lose weight, But I know myself. So I think it best for myself to do the take off with you I will probably start on Tuesday ( I don't work Mondays) and then continue with regular program, I hate to set my self up for failure. Is Tuesday a good start date for everyone!? :)

I like the old way I thought it was unlimited meats and veggies. Is this true?

Tools for the Journey
 
I am sharing what types of things I found that help me stay on track. Please share any ideas you have as well.
  • A good food scale (I have a digital one that is really meant for postage but is is great)
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Measuring Cups (for dry measures)
  • Glass measuing cup for liquid measures
  • Ziploc Bags (pint size) to carry veggies with me
  • Seasonings without salt or sugar
  • A little lunch pouch/lunch bag which holds the food you need to eat for the day
  • Little pearing knife that fits in the lunch bag to cut up fruit
  • I keep my protein bars in the refrigerator to keep them nice and cold
  • Making a check list of usual items that I always buy to save time when going shopping.
  • Having a 32 oz water bottle (to fill up twice for a full day serving)
  • George Foreman Grill or similar indoor grill

Sorry I haven't been posting recently... things have been pretty hectic!!! I had another death close to me, this time a great family friend dropped dead Wednesday morning.

Dietwise, things are great, am continuing to lose!

I am onboard for a TO!!! monday and Tuesday??

Yes I am in for Monday and Tuesday! If that doesn't work for everyone we don't have to all do it together I just like Monday and Tuesday to get it out of the way! But we will obviously be here to support each other no matter what!

Directions: TAKE OFF PHASE (2 Days) without Take Off Juice
 
The purpose of this short TAKE OFF phase is to assist your body in reaching the optimum chemical balance so that, when the next phase of your program begins, you will lose weight in the fastest, safest and most enjoyable way as possible. Changing food composition intake signals the body to burning storage fat as the body’s major source of energy. This immediate change to rapid fat metabolism promotes quick weight loss, improves energy, and minimizes hunger.

During this phase of your program:

YOU MUST HAVE UNLIMITED AMOUNTS OF THE FOLLOWING FOODS:
Proteins:
Meats – (can be consumes with skin – but no breading)
Beef, Chicken, Fish, Lamb, Liver, Shellfish (fresh), Tuna (fresh or canned-packed in water only) and Veal
Vegetables
All the raw green salad vegetables listed on your shopping list
In addition to the above you will need to eat:
2 oranges per day – 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
FRUIT JUICE MAY NOT BE SUBSTITUTED (if citrus sensitive, substitute 1/8 cantaloupe per orange)
You may use butter, margarine or oil in preparing your foods. Use oil and vinegar or lite salad dressings on your salads.
YOU MAY HAVE LIMITED AMOUNTS OF THE FOLLOWING FOODS:
  • 1/4 tsp. of Morton’s Light Salt per day (this is a must for potassium)
  • Up to 3 packets per day of artificial sweetener
  • Up to 24 oz. of diet soda
  • Sodium Free Club Soda or Seltzer Water
  • Up to 4 cups of caffeinated coffee or tea and 4 cups of decaf coffee or tea
  • Hot fresh lemon water (this acts as a natural diuretic to relieve a full or blotted feeling)
  • Any seasoning may be used to enhance the flavor of food as long as it contains no sugar or salt
  • 8 – 8 oz. Glasses of water MUST BE CONSUMED DAILY (Perrier, seltzer water or mineral water may be substituted). Space water as follows: 24 oz. AM to noon, 24 oz. – Noon to 6 PM, 16 oz – 6 PM to bedtime
  • Absolutely no other foods are permitted during this phase, no peas, bread, pasta, milk, cheese, or condiments (mayonnaise, relish or ketchup). Additional foods will be introduced in the next phase of your program.

No peas, bread, pasta, milk, cheese or condiments (mayonnaise, relish, or ketchup).

LIMITED FOODS:
You may have limited amounts of the following foods:

  • Coffee (up to two 6 oz. cups per day; either regular of decaffinated)

Good Morning Everyone!

I am a pear shape without a doubt. When I put on weight the butt and thighs are the first place it goes. Unfortunately, it is the last place that I lose it!

Well I did take off on Monday and Tuesday this week, so I will not be able to do it with you guys this week. Next time!

I fell off the wagon last night and Thursday. I am eating every couple of hours, but by the time I get to dinner I am so hungry. Thursday and Friday I went out to dinner with my BF and I ended up eating too much bread while we waited for our salads. My actual dinner was fish both notes, so that was good for me. The only thing that I can think of is I did the slimdown shakes at lunch the past few days and maybe that was just not enough for me.

I have a wedding to go to this afternoon, so I am going to do my best to stay on plan. I plan to get back on track tomorrow. I don't want to get on the scale because I am guessing that I put the TO weight back on.

Kennedy: Congratulations! Thank you for all of the information on the Take off. I used the oranges for the first time this past week, but I didn't know about the 2 eggs per day. I am going to try that next time!

Amy: Thanks for all of the tips and extra information!

You guys are great! It is so hard to stay on plan, especially this time of year. I love ice cream and I have a real hard time saying no! I wish that my center was still open, so that I could weigh-in. If I know that someone is "watching" then I am more likely to stay on track.

Well, I am off to the gym for spinning today with my BF. It is already 70 here in upstate NY, so I might walk to the gym (20 minute walk). Talk to you later!

Heather5: Yes you definitely have to do Take Off with us the next time. Try to stay on plan as best as possible at this wedding. Do more socializing walking around talking to people you know and don't know. If there is going to be music go ahead and dance a couple of songs. Say no to the cake or desserts. I went to a wedding last month. Thank goodness it was buffet style. I took what I could and then I excused myself (told them I had to make a phone call) went to my car and ate my food that I prepared for myself. I am not sure if this would work for you but I wanted to share the suggestion with you. Enjoy the wedding keep us posted on how you did.

EVERYONE:
I wanted to share a technique I learned about two months ago. I will try to explain it as best as possible. Please note that it may or might not work for everyone. For example. when I go into a place let's say a Pizzeria to pick up food for my family my first reaction as soon as I walk into the place is WOW it smells good in here. At his point I quickly remember all the wonderful tasting foods that are created there. Then I quickly try to refocus myself and tell myself "okay we are not here for you and what you decide to sneak and eat will reverse all the things you have accomplished thus far". Then all of a sudden I am fine. I pay the bill bring the stuff to the car and as it sits there I smell it again. At this point I smell the food as hard as I possibly can, maybe about three times (I mean sniff the air like you never sniffed the air before to take the aroma in). I noticed after the third or fourth time I don't even want it anymore. It always works for me and always seems to make me feel like I already ate it after doing it. I know, I know sounds strange but hey if it works for me I want to share it with all of you because maybe it can work for someone else. I have no idea where I discovered how to do this. One day it just happened. If anyone is interested in trying it out the next time they are put into a situation like that try it and let me know how it works. At first I thought it was a coincidence but when I kept doing it when I walked into the hot wings place, the Chinese food restaurant and other pizza places it worked over and over again.

Okay guys everyone enjoy your weekend. It is 9:31 am on my end and currently 60 degrees feels more like 70 and the highs will be 86 degrees not bad for a day in April and in New Jersey. Sunny, sunny, sunny. I might have to have another virtual BBQ to invite everyone again.

One more post for the day!!! I just got back from the gym!! I walked 1.5 miles to the gym, took an hour spinning class with my BF, and then walked back! I think I just worked off what I put back on after take off!

Good Morning!

I got on the scale this morning after having been off plan the last few days. The good thing, I am still down from my first WI, but I went up. Back on the wagon today! I think I might try doing the plan without the lites and see if that helps me stay on plan any better!

Good morning to all. i will be doing takeoff on monday and tuesday. I am excited because I need to loose 5 more pounds in 2 weeks to meet my easter goal.

I lost one pound this week and any loss is great. At my meeting I was told on 5-7-09 LAWL will b introducing a new plan. I will let you all know. i also joined a team with LA sort of like the Biggest loosers team. I actually joined the team of the counselor I do not like because I thought it would help me loose more. I will let you all know how it goes.

Everyone is doing so well. hope everyone has a great Sunday!!
