Kimberly, thanks for the tips!

Momofthree, I think I would go with Julie’s options. Although I know what I would do and it would not include being good… ha! I am a little e devil.

Dan! Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip!

Dionne, I would have trouble with Atkins too. But I think someone else said that you should be able to cook fairly the same way for you and your hubby if you do LA again. And Dionne I don’t want to preach but I know you can do this! You beat my butt last time! Take it back! Beat me again! I dare you!

Joan, yum WINE! HA! Gotta love the liquid fruit!

Jillian, how is the little hellion??

Stephanie, good to see you! I have been contemplating WW as well the thing is I don’t think it is what plan for me as much as it is me needing to fund within myself the determination I once had… where did it go??? Maybe a new plan would spark that? I don’t know?

Nicole! You are doing soo great! I wish I had your willpower for Atkins.

Amy, how are you liking WW? God I love OG Alfredo! HA!

Barbara, I know what you mean about special occasions, in your case this was for sure one. Glad that you were able to celebrate your great uncles life they way he would have wanted. I on the other hand seem to have more and more of those occasions popping up, I think I need to redefine the words Special occasion. HA!

Well Ladies I was going to do TO today and tomorrow. But I just still wasn’t feeling great I got a cold over the weekend. So hopefully next Monday and Tuesday will work better it is officially less than 2 weeks till MEXICO! I can’t wait! I got a really cute swimsuit! Well I hope you all have a great rest of the night!

Nicole, Normal teenager stuff is rather like ADD, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have it. Kids that age are hugely frustrating for adults, as they just are not thinking straight, and are often all over the place. One month my DD is ready to go out and live as a street person because she does not need all the materialistic trappings that I seem to need and we never loved or cared for her at all, since I had worked for money instead of staying home with her.... Then a month or two later she blows a great deal of the money she made from working (which I thought she was saving for college) on Coach hand bags. Since I never bought her anything stylish.

I never get sick, let alone like this!!

Kimberly- great words of motivation to start us off this week!!

Momofthree- The suggestion of the chicken from Julie sounds good. Enjoy yourself! Life is about moments like these, so don’t stress too much.

I get the hungry girl emails everyday, and this was in the Chain Restaurant Shocker email regarding Olive Garden:
Olive Garden, Spaghetti & Meatballs

PER SERVING (dinner portion): 1,110 calories, 50g fat, 2,180mg sodium, 103g carbs -- POINTS® value 26*

For anyone who missed the big news, Olive Garden now posts its nutritional info online. We flipped when we heard and were brave enough to scour the site in search of shocking new info. Some of the meals are what we like to call "DUH!" items (a dinner portion of Chicken Alfredo over fettuccine has 1,430 calories and 82g fat... DUH!), but others surprised and horrified us. Specifically, the most basic of all Italian food -- Spaghetti & Meatballs. Over 1,000 calories for spaghetti in a tomato-based sauce and a few balls of meat? COME ON!

Better Choice: If you want that classic tomato goodness, o pt for the Linguini alla Marinara, with 430 calories and 6g fat for a dinner portion (POINTS® value 8 - 9*). And if you really need a ground beef fix, start with a serving of Pasta e Fagioli for just 130 calories, 2.5g fat, and a POINTS® value of 2 - 3*. (With two types of fiber-rich beans, it's most likely a POINTS® value of 2*.) Those meatballs are SO not worth it.

Jillian- Hey!! How are things going with the kiddos??

Dionne- good luck with your decision. Atkins is a tough way to go in my opinion, so the best of luck to you!!

Joan, Julie, Nicole- hey!

Steph- I am on WW and I really like it. It’s all about moderation and control. I am looking into that website now!!

Points wise, the one that always shocked me was Schlotzkeys.. one of their sandwiches has something like 54 points!!!

morning everyone. just wanted to say hi before i don't have a chance to.
DS..aka "hellion" has been doing fine lately. just being a typical 3yr old boy.
i just wish i could get him poop trained, but for the life of me he just won't do it. he knows when he does it and usually does it when i'm busy with something (of course!) and then comes to tell me that he pooped. ugh. so frustrating. i know it's just a power struggle thing. it's something he can control and knows how badly we want him to do it in the potty, but he just won't do it. he even goes as far as getting wipes for us to clean him up with after he's done it! ugh!
so that's my struggle/frustration lately. it's almost time for me to have this baby in a few months and i promised myself that i'd have him fully trained by then so that way he could go to preschool in the fall, but i don't see that happening. plus he's got a bit of growing up to do before i consider sending him anyways.

ok..enough of my ranting about my little 'hellion'...i hope everyone is enjoying their week so far. it's rained yesterday and today here...which is a rare thing for feb. it's usually snow. so it's been a nice change, i love the rain.

hope everyone has a good day.

Jillian I know what your going through!! Expect my DS (he'll be 3 next Monday) wont tell me he pooped, he just takes off his diaper! SO frustrating! I had also told myself that he would be potty trained before Isaiah was born, but that didnt happen. Dont get frustrated. Everyone keeps telling me one day it will click and they will get it. I just hope its before they start choosing a college! lol

Potty training can be very frustrating but hang in there. They evenntually get it and it always seems to be on their own schedule and timing. It's very frustrating when another little on is on the way but try not to pt that pressure on them. It will only makethe process that much longer and harder for everyone. Hang in there. Jillian I must say you are doing fantastic with your weight gain!! Keep it up! Only a little more to go and your little blessing will be in your arms!!

Hello everyone

I got layed off last week so I have been having a rough go at things. I applyed for employment insurance but I am hoping to find a job before the 30 day waiting period is over. (in Canada you get a deduction from every paycheck like a tax and if you lose our job you can collect some of it back while you look for work, not sure if you have that in the US) I am back on program today doing TO with oranges since I am unemployed and cannot afford the la juice!! I am a bit dissapointed because I lose my thereapist which was paid by my extended medical benifits. DBF has extended as well but I cannot transfer it over. Luckily my therapist is going to get me into the eating disorder program that is offered free through the public system. Anyway I am going to try and post everyday and eventually return to COD and start using my weeks I have left. I am just so embarassed to have gained mostr of the weight back. sigh.

Jillian I LOVE your pic, you look fantastic Sorry to read about all the trouble your 3yr old is casuing you, sounds just like my nefew.

Good luck on your TO Cecil, I'm rooting for you!

Barbara I always find funerals hard. The emotions and the remincing and of course the food just seems to be neverending. Sounds like you didn't do too badly.

Amy hope you don't have a virus. ick.

Nicole you are doing amazing. That must feel good to have achieved your weekend goal. That is always the hard time for me. Way to go!

Hi Stephanie! I have been doing the same, lurking and gaining. Hopefully you can snap out of your slump soon and get started again. You know you can do it!

Joan I love uphill treadmill it is easier than running but burns more calories and gives your muscles a run for their money!

Hi Dan!

Momofthree - when in doubt I ask for a to-go container right when they bring my meal and put half of it away before I even start eating.

Thanks for the great tips Kimberly

Have a great day everyone!

Kimberly........I have three words for you.....duct tape belt.

Jillian and Kimberly........I have heard that trying to potty train a toddler in time for the new baby to arrive can be tough for the toddler. They really do need to do it in their own time.....and honest to goodness......if you just ignore the whole potty issue and change their diapers with everyday care and a loving smile......they will forget about the whole struggle in a few months and figure it out on their own. Oh, and since they are boys.....summer is coming and you can let them pee on the trees in the backyard. (this is what I like to call practical mothering that gets results...) Just make sure you tell them they can only do it at home, with your permission, and when out in the woods. . I do understand your frustration though..........the thought of not having to scrape adult size elimination from their bottoms is too good to be true Hang in there girls

Erin......it sounds like you have a plan and a great attitude. That is exactly what it takes.....so good for you

XOXO

Default new to the board

Hello!

I am Kristine and I am new to this board, but not new to LAWL. I joined LA in 9/05 and had went from 154-117 in less then a year. I felt awesome and kept most of the weight off, until the past year. I am now back up to 131 and miserable! I am trying to plan again on my own since the centers closed. Any support would be great. My down fall is beer Since I stopped LA I noticed that I ran right back to carbs. That is my other downfall. However, the past few days, I have been following the green plan again and working on limiting my intakes. So far I feel ok and lost like a pound. Hope this will be a motivation for me by checking in on the boards daily! All I want to lose for now is 10 pounds by May, although more would be great! I know if I did it before I can again!

Just a quick check in with my "peeps" - nothing too exciting for me except having to get a(nother) root canal -- one of the big teeth and as always, I have to go to a specialist since I have long roots that are curved at the end. The root canal bill alone (not the crown) was $1050! I swear, if you have insurance, they just jack up the bill!

Erin - sorry to hear about your layoff. Here in the states, when one gets laid off from a job, they qualify for 6-8 months of unemployment pay. The amount varies on the salary you were making and there is a max you can make each week. I haven't had to collect yet, thank goodness.

Nicole - has your mom said how she feels about having her GD and GGD staying with her?? Just curious.

okay - on the diet front, I find the root canal diet has been helpful, but this won't last for too long. When I get back from vacation at the end of the month, I've enlisted in morning boot camp in March and may just have to try a modified Atkins/SouthBeach or whey proten diet.

I feel like it's Wednesday today...why is that?

thanks for the comment on my weight gain...but my ticker is from the beginning of august before i found out i was expecting. unless you're going by my recent picture..which still hides quite a bit. either way, the weight gain isn't very pretty, but at least i'll lose it again..for the 4th and FINAL time.

Hi friends! I've been working hard this week with very little comp time! It's been a hectic but great week at work, I'm having fun trying new stuff and starting to feel comfortable speaking on behalf of my clients!

Is it weird that I haven't been interested in eating lately? A few days ago, I literally forgot to eat anything for lunch. I've been driving a lot and going from hearing to hearing without much time in between so I'm literally eating just to survive! I bring smoothies, fiber one and other snacks. I end up with too many points at the end of the day so I know I need to make a nice big breakfast.

Exercise has been minimal bc of my early report times this week, but I am still feeling good and I've snuck in a couple miles.

Nicole-I hope that things are cleared up regarding your daughter. I understand your wanting to know.

Joni-uck! Root canal does not sound like fun. You have expensive roots! Yikes!

Erin-hang in there girl. what a blow!

Stephanie-come back to us! Get back on track! You were always a huge motivation to me and I know you can get back in the routine of losing. I believe in you!!

Hi Lettie-like the new pic! YOu are lookin HOT. How are things with hubby?

Hi Cecil, Barbara, Dan, Dionne, Jillian!

AmyNJ-are you PG?!?!
