I want to welcome you to our cozy corner of the 3FC world! I combine Volumetrics with calorie counting, and for me it is working very well. The volumetrics concept is a great help in my need to feed. Lolene, you mentioned breakfast. I am not sure how much help I'll be, but I have been eating oatmeal cooked in the micro (1/2C rolled oats, covered in water, micro'd for about 2.5 minutes), then mixed with blueberries (frozen) and a bit of milk. You can stretch it further with a sliced banana. Maybe some yogurt? Again, welcome:wave: and if you have any questions, just post - there are many great minds that visit here! |

I am so excited! I cannot stress enough how glad I am to find this forum, and now a volumetrics thread! this rocks! I have been doing volumetrics/calorie counting for about a month now, I have lost 16 pouds that I am all kids of excited about :) I am actually only 9 pounds from my first mini goal (to get under 300 pounds) so all is good.
For the breakfast question, I tend to grab a large banana. they are filling enough for me and since I am not a morning person, great for running out the door with. |

I like cooking and planning and shopping except for breakfast. I eat a bowl of oatmeal every day prepared pretty much exactly like judipurple does it. I bought bags of frozen blue berries, raspberries and something else - I forget - anyway, I toss a small handfull in my oatmeal if I don't have any other fruit. Sometimes I break up a couple of walnut meats into the cereal. |

I'm an oatmeal or high fibre cereal kind of girl, also -- but my suggestion for those who don't want to fuss with breakfast would be fruit and yogurt. My throat is feeling a bit less sore but I'm still sneezing and snuffling a lot. Need to go out for milk and cream sometime today, but other than that I'll probably be doing very little except feel sorry for myself again. See you later . . . :grouphug: |

Thanks for the welcome. I got up a little earlier today and did make oatmeal. In fact, I was full before I could eat it all. I did 1/2 cup oatmeal with a cup of water and a tsp. of splenda. Rainy, drizzling day here in NY. Off to my son's Football game (in the rain) at 7:00 PM. Should be exciting! Have a good week end, Lolene |

I made this for supper. I also put some of the glaze on a peach and grilled the peach halves along with the salmon. The glaze is really good, especially considering how easy it is to make. I had bulgur and a big tossed green salad with Cilantro dressing with the salmon. The cilantro dressing from Trader Joe's was really good, too. |

I sliced a peach, added a spoonful of ff, plain yogurt and topped the whole thing with a broken up square of dark chocolate. Quite yummy. The chocolate has 67 calories and the peach and yogurt are healthy. |
Actually Kyle was a fairly well-behaved little guy around here. Hope he was equally as calm in the rest of the Maritimes.
Still nursing the remains of my cold with far too many 'bad carbs'. The comfort food problem of trying to find something that I can actually taste, I guess. :o |

The sun is shining and I'm feeling almost normal again. :yay: Still a bit snuffly and sneezy, but definitely on the mend. Think this might be a good day to cook up a new type of rice I picked up just after I got home from NC -- Lundberg Black Japonica, a blend of medium grain black and short grain mahogany rices. I've been saving it until my sense of taste came back. :lol: Anybody else familiar with it????? |

Sort of feels like you are talking to yourself doesn't it?
I have been busy trying to learn Italian (yeah, right!) and doing preparations for our trip. Last night, I ordered Euros from the Bank of America. One Euro is worth about 1.5 USD. I am planning on being able to get money out of the ATMs there, but I think a little cash in hand will be good. I am also going to sign up for the overseas plan on my cell phone. It will turn out to cost $.99 per minute, but if we have some kind of emergency it will be worth it. I won't be using the phone just to chit chat at those prices. I also need to call my credit card co. and tell them I am going to Italy. I don't want them to freeze my card because they think someone stole my card and went to Italy. :lol: I continue to eat too much of the wrong food. I don't know why I can't get a grip. My planned meals are fine, but I eat my DH's junk right along with him. Yesterday, I made polenta because I had never had before. I did't get it cooked firm enough, but it still tasted good especially after I added the suggested butter to it. I kept eating on it until I felt so guilty that I gave the rest of it to the dogs. They loved it!!! I had a romaine - blueberry - blue cheese salad last night. I am very good about not putting too much cheese on my salad - always measure or else I use a serving that I have already measured out. |
