Did 45 mins of walking today and tonight I will do the YMCA for strength training. Whew.....it's hard to get back into the habit. Why oh why did I stop? Oh, gas prices....that is why and the heat? Sounds like excuses to me....what do you all say?
I got back into my basement gym - I have a bench and barbells - yesterday and today. I haven't done strength training in far too long. It feels so good and I know what my body has been missing. Maybe that will help me get back on track with food. I have been utterly horrible.
My house guests of almost 6 weeks will be leaving this weekend. I think that will help me get back into a more healthy routine. Their remodeling job turned out so cute by the way.
No exercise yesterday - I literally too exhausted from Monday's weight workout! I guess being 5 years older this time, as well as several pounds heavier, means I'll have to give myself more time to adjust to the new routine.
Today was a lower body workout - I went easy on the weight so I can build some strength back in my quads to protect my knees before start really working them.
Yesterday: did YOU workout, 1 mile walking video plus about 15 extra minutes of walking.
This morning it was actually overcast and 77 degrees so I got on the road early and did a nice 30 minute walk. I used the Kathy Smith powerbelt I bought a few years ago to help me maintain form. According to my pedometer I'm walking about 20 percent faster than I did when I began 9 1/2 weeks ago.
Another 45 minutes at the gym this morning - today was cardio day, so it was a brisk walk on the treadmill, with an incline most of the time.
My gym is much less crowded on Tuesdays and Thursdays - I need to figure out how to take advantage of that with my workouts - yesterday it was much too hectic to do my lower body workout effectively. I did it, but I was jumping around to different machines as they were available, instead of getting the one I wanted when I wanted it.
