Hey everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! My husband had to work so I was at home all day today. He had to work 2 shifts so he should be gettting home around 11:00 p.m. We didn't have Thanksgiving dinner so I did okay today. It was kinda lonely though. I come from a family of tradition and since his family doesn't really have any tradition it wasn't a big deal for him not to have Thanksgiving. This is our first Thanksgiving together as husband and wife. How depressing huh? Oh well...next year will have to be better. I would have cooked but we are getting ready to move next Friday and everything is packed up. We are eating off of paper plates! Okay enough of me sulking..I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving and didn't fall off the plan too terribly bad!

Take care!

Marcie:
It is hard when you follow traditions and your husband does not. The first time I had dinner at my in-laws on Thanksgiving I was so suprised they had turkey alright but that was all they had. They are from Italy so the rest of the meal was pasta and meat , boy I was disappointed, now I try to avoid Thankgiving at my in-laws. I am glad the day is over though I ate and had a good day but I got on the scale and shouldn't have. Guess you is doing take-off today. I am going to go out in the crazy crowds later. How is the slim fast going? I need to think differently for the next Holiday or When we go see a play in a couple of weeks, eating what I want is not going to work. I do not want to have to pay for it weeks after.
Jibbelle how was your Holiday?
Have a great day!

Hello everyone!

Marcie- Sorry to hear about your drab Thanksgiving. Maybe once you are settled into the new house you can make a nice dinner.

I had a great Thanksgiving with my family. I did really well at staying on plan! I did have one bit of pumpkin pie...and it was oh-so-yummy!

I do not think I am going to brave the shopping crowds today. If it doesnt rain we are putting up the outside Christmas lights. If it rains I will put up the tree.

Guess I better get some breakfast. I will weigh in tomorrow and post!

Well....I just went to weigh in and I was only down 0.4 lbs from last Saturday. I did not get all my water in this week....so I am guessing that may have made the difference. It does not look like I will make my Christmas goal, but I am sure going to try!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Jibbelle, Don't worry about only losing .4 a pound. That is pretty good the week of Thanksgiving. You will make your Christmas goal!! I just know you will!!

Well I decided yesterday that by golly I was gonna have a Thanksgiving dinner. So I went to the store and got a turkey and did a casserole and veggies. I surprised my husband when he got home from work. He was so ecstatic!! I really didn't eat that much either. I didn't even touch my corn. I think that is b/c when I was doing LA I never ate it and so I lost the taste for it. I got full and stopped and didnt even finish my roll which is a huge step for me!! As for the Slimfast thing..I looked at the carbs one day and realized there was 40grams of carbs. I am super sensitive to carbs as it is and then i weighed in on Wed. and I weighed 200 pds. So I decided that probably wasnt the best way to go. I know what works for me and it is LA WL. I may not be going in and weighing or eating their bars but I can still do the plan. I went and bought a bunch of fruits and veggies and I am ready to get back on plan. I know I have said this soooo many times but all I can say is that I am gonna try once again.

We really need to step up during this next month and stay on plan. We are going to have many temptations in front of us and Diane you said it best...We must plan our meals ahead of time b/c this is the time of year we are on the go non stop. Remember lot's of water. Let's all make our Christmas goal!! C'mon that is my challenge to each of you!! We can do this together!!

Marcie-

I am sorry to hear that the Slimfast thing did not work for you. Welcome back to LA! If you really want bars or shakes, I have seem similar soy based things in the health food section at the grocery store. There are also lots of LA products listed on Ebay...just do a search for LA Weight Loss. I think you can probably do great without them though!

So glad you are back on the plan with us!! Lets get to those Chrstmas goals!

Hi Marcie:
Glad you are Back on La weight loss. I am so excited for you and I am looking foward to reaching our Christmas goals along with you. I have tried lots of times also this is my third time at La weight loss and I am glad I gave it another try. You are just about where I started from, just give yourself the time that you need it will come off. It is hard to be patient when you want something so bad. In the begining I would do silly things like date my diary for the whole month and make little promises to myself little weight goals because at the time I felt so overwhelmed with the weight I had to lose. To tell the truth I was not sure either that I was going to stick with it.
Good Luck
Jibbelle I did not lose at all when I weighed in I went up 1.75 pounds. I did not even eat that much on Thanksgiving at the time I was not really worried about it now I am. I am going to have to remind myself for the next time. ( Going to see the Christmas Carol December 9th and out to dinner after). I am looking foward to this week no Holidays. Don't give up I your Christmas goal even if you are really close you worked hard to get there and that is important.
I went shopping again yesterday it was more crowed than Friday. I went with my friend who is on WW and I said I am not eating lunch she did not want to eat by herself. I told her I was doing 2 day take off and it is hard to eat out I said I will get a soda and sit down with you. She said I starve her when we go out together. I don't know why family and friends are bothered when I chose not to eat, I never say anything about what they are eating. I find it easier to eat before I go out, because then I am in control of what kind of food I am eating and it is easier to stick to plan.
Have a good Sunday!

Diane-
I agree that the best thing to do is eat before you go! I sometimes put a bar in my purse if I am going to be gone for a while. If I get hungry...or just the munchies...I can eat something on plan.

My mom and grandmother are going to be in town tomorrow to go shopping. I took a vacation day so I can spend the day with them. I also have my 4th and final interview Monday at 8am. They are also going to make a decision this week. I am keeping my fingers crossed...but I really dont think I am getting this job. Just have to wait and see.

I have only had 8oz of water this morning so I better get moving! Hope everyone has a great on plan day.

I went to weigh in this morning since I was dissappointed with my 0.4 lb weight loss last week. I was down 1.2 lbs! WOOHOO That makes me down 32 lb all together. Not too shabby. Maybe I will make it to that Christmas goal!! Only 8 lbs to go

Jibbelle:
Good Job! My center had the new lemon bars, I don't think you will like them either, they were also on the sweet side. A bit strong on the lemon also. My center is pushing the $4.OO a week price I bought two weeks to be safe. I am about .75 pounds to lose from Thanksgiving. The councelor goes good job to me it is not because I am losing the same weight over again. I don't consider it progress, yes I am glad it came off but I feel I wasted last week.
How did the interview go?
Marcie how was your weekend?
When I was at my center today a friend was there that I have not seen in a while and she walked right by me, she said if I did not call her name she would have kept going she did not reconize me. It was a little weird she kept staring, then she asked how much weight have I lost. I have not seen her since before I started on the program. I guess it was nice not to be reconized in a weird sort of way.\
By the was Jibbelle I am about 12 yrs older than you.
I need to start worrying about flabby skin.
I weigh in again on Wednesday.

Diane-
Congrats on the loss! You are soooooo close!

I do not think I am even going to try the lemon bars. It is going to take me forever to eat this box of strawberry. Anyone who lost at least 0.5 lbs over Thanksgiving got a $20 credit at our center. I guess I will save it for when they want me to do the Take-Off.

I am cooking some chicken now...going to have a big lettuce salad with grilled chicken for dinner. I have not had my dairy yet so I am going to put some cheese on top too!

My last interview went really well today. They are supposed to meet tomorrow and decide on who to hire. Hopefully they will let us know something by the end of the week.

I think I am going back to the center on Wednesday. I will have to see how crazy things are at work. I think I have enough bars and shakes to last thru Saturday if needed. If it were up to me...I would only go once a week!

Better go get dinner started!

Jibbelle:
At first it bothered me going so much to the center, but now I think I need it being so close. I think the cheating would creep up to much if I only went once a week.
I am also am having chicken for dinner. Have a good night.
My center did not offer the 20.00 credit I might have been better if they did. Diane

Our center did not tell us before Thanksgiving. They told us after! I am guessing that it will be motivation for everyone for Christmas. Maybe they will do it again!

Hi all,
I don't know if you remember me but awhile back I wrote to tell you that even though I am not on LAWL I love reading this thread because you're all so supportive of each other. I hope I can talk with you all.

Jibelle, I read yourposts and you seem so motivated and determined to get this weight off. I just know you will get there. I hae been somewhat chubby all my life. It was not until 200 that I did something about it. LAWL helped me get started .

Good Luck To you all and I hope to talk to you soon!!
