Rhonda........I don't really like the slimfast shakes. I have used the powder w/ milk before, and I liked that much better. I will probably pick some up tomorrow. I mananged to drink the premade shake, but didn't really like it too well. I am baking some fish right now......late lunch.......and I am REALLY looking forward to it. I hope they figure out what is wrong SOON!!! KIM.........WTG!!! If you keep your sodium down, I bet your gain will be minimal if at all. It is so nice to see a loss, isn't it???? I am sooooo stupid! I just sat down to figure out what I ate so far today so I can make myself some supper and I just now realized that I don't have any proteins left...UGGHHHH! I said (out loud) 'You're kidding me!' and my DD started laughing at me so I had to laugh at myself. I hope this challenge gives us all the results we're hoping for:)

tina-you must've done a slimfast for breakfast-whenever I do that it messes up my normal "breakdown" for each meal- I usually have 1/2 P at breakfast. Hang in there!
As for me-it's going well-FF took about 4 lbs off and I'm finally at my lowest weight ever! Hopefully it will hold . . . |

Nikki- I'm trying-my goal is to be in onederland by the time I go to Vietnam. Totally doable as long as don't get sidetracked again. I keep telling myself that at least I know how to maintain ;)

I am in that boat tomorrow with my meal plan. I will not have a protein for dinner b/c I am having the fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast and the slimfast for lunch. Oh well. I can live without it. I will have salad. :)

I'm so happy with ANY food after Takeoff. This was today's menu:
Breakfast :Slimfast (P, S) , cheese string, 1/2 c yogurt ( 1/2 D) Snack: Lite, Coffee 1/2 C Milk (1/2 D) Lunch: 2 oz bagel (S), 1 tbsp cream cheese (C), 15 grapes (FR) Snack: 3/4 cup pineapple (FR) Dinner:Lemon Shrimp Stirfry (P,2V, FR), 1 tbsp Sunflower Seeds (FA) 56g salad and 1 TBSP FF dressing (V, C) Snack Lite Oh yeah and about 50 gallons of lemon water! |
Todays menu:
breakfast: slimfast with a string cheese 1P, 1S snack: 4oz yogurt 1/2D lunch: cobb salad (from cookbook minus the chicken) 1P, 2C, 1FA strawberries 1F snack: 4oz yogurt 1/2D Dinner: Lemon Shrimp stirfry 1P, 2V Huh, I did not eat enough.................. I still have 2F and a S left. I will have some fruit for dessert Tomorrow: Breakfast: Fruit and yogurt parfait 1F,1S, 1D snack: Celery 1V Lunch: slimfast/cheesestick 1P 1S pear 1F snack: blood orange 1F dinner: stirfried chicken salad (LAWL cookbook) 1P, 2V |
Well, today didn't turn out as great as I had hoped OP-wise, but at least it wasn't a disaster! I ended up short on veggies (actually I didn't eat ANY..lol) nor my water. :( Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. Come to think of it - it's funny that I would call this a "bad" day plan-wise, when 3 months ago, a bad day would have consisted of a run through the drive-thru, maybe a candy bar...etc.
I'm gonna dust myself off, and start anew tomorrow:) p.s. I don't think that the slimfast shakes are going to win any awards for great taste!:p |

I didn't get all of my veggies in either...infact, it took a cup of v8 for me to get any of them. If it wasn't for my V8, I would be severely veggie-deprived! That's all! WI tomorrow...we'll see how it goes! I worked out 2 days in a row! TOmorrow I'll try for 3!! |
Rhonda - great attitude! Who knows, though, by missing a veggie or two may have tweaked your body into losing! Today is a new day!!
I found Slim Fast to have that "can" taste, but you can always throw it in a blender with some fruit or something. Make sure you drink it as cold as possible, and if you can, dump it into a glass instead of drinking out of the can. Lara - :goodluck: at WI today!! |

Day 3 of the challenge went OK. Home scale has me up 1.2, but I always gain a bit after TO. I made the shark steak last night, but I forgot to marinate it, so I wasn't thrilled with it. DH liked it, though, so he took my portion with him for lunch today. I ended up eating two veggie burgers, sans bun. I didn't feel like cooking either last night, so instead of broccoli and mushrooms, we had spinach w/garlic and a salad. DH made it, so I wasn't complaining. Tonight I have tilapia. I am using my new fish grill basket, so we'll see what happens there. Hope everyone is holding up OK. And I swear that slim fast tastes much better w/vodka! :devil: |
I accidently left my menu plan at work last night, and I couldn't recall what I had planned for this AM, so I repeated yesterday. With some minor modifications it will work today... so, yay me.
Cassi - that post TO letdown sucks, huh? The good news is that it is temporary! Slimfast White Russians! add khaluha and vodka to Vanilla shake! |

As far as the post TO letdown, I know to expect it now, so it's OK. And since the scale is still only at 200.6 from 206.2, I am still thrilled. |
Rhonda.......I think canned slimfast sucks. I had never tried it until yesterday. I bought a can of the powdered stuff last night, milk chocolate flavor, and mixed it with skim milk this a.m. YUM!!! Tastes JUST Like nestle quick in milk. Soooo much better.
I was not POP yesterday either. I did well for the most part of the day, and then DH had to take his boss to dinner last night, so he didn't get home until 9:30. Well, I start going a little mental every day around 4, and by 5 or 5:30, I really need him...........to make a long story short.......I was soo busy last night that I ended up just drinking another slimfast at 8:30 pm, cuz I NEEDED to eat something, and just didn't really care what it was. I then had jello and FFCW where I should have had some veggies. I was just feeling lazy after I finally had everyone settled, no real exuses here. |

Hi All-I doing pretty well on the challenge-not POP but pretty close. A couple of things I couldn't plan ahead for and had to do my best. I've been having my slimfast for dinner yesterday and again today. Hope that will really help my weight loss. I've had busy evenings the past couple of days so that makes it easy.
I went up exactly 1.2lbs after TO-just like Cassi. But lost that 1.2 since yesterday. Hopefully will be down more tomorrow for the COD-I haven't been in over a month. And they haven't called. wierd. Hang in there guys! |
Just wanted to post this for anyone who is having the same issues that I am with this challenge...
I told one of the counselors at my COD about the challenge and advsd that I was actually up, even though I have been sticking to it perfectly...she advsd that it might just be my body trying to compensate or adjust to the change in foods, and that I should definitely give it a couple more days...(I "forgot" to mention to her that I had 3 vodka/grapefruits last night)... So, I don't know if that is comforting, but I wanted to share. |
So, I was actually .2 up for the week when last week I had lost 4 pounds (and I did TO this week!). I am going to continue this until my next WI (Tuesday) an dif I am not down by then I am going to give it the heave-ho. I think a week and a half is plenty of time to get adjusted!

thanks for the heads up from your COD, Lara. It seems ridiculous, but it's good to know that 3 of us had the same issue. I have to wonder if the body goes into starvation mode, so to speak, because of the reduced calories. Maybe slimdown is not such a hot idea. How is everyone else doing???? Do you think maybe it will catch up next week, and we will have huge losses???

I, too seem to be stuck scale-wise. I just got back from my w/i. I am exactly the same as when I was there on Tuesday. I have been POP, minus the one day that I didn't get in all of my veggies. I'm gonna go in again on Tuesday morning, and see what the almighty scale says that day...... I don't particularly care for the taste of the shakes, but they sure have come in handy for a quick meal during this crazy -busy last few days! Nicole - I'm hoping this is just an "adjustment phase" or something - maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised next week when we start dropping pounds like crazy!!:D Kristen, I didn't get to do the noodles - still haven't found them!! Have you picked out your red-hot bra yet?? |
Well-the challenge does seem to be working for me-again, I'm trying to do the shakes for dinner and I did that the last 3 days, so maybe that's helping. I went into the COD today for the first time in ages. All the counselor were new again! ARRRRRGGHHHH! So-I lost 2.4 pounds since the last time I was in (of course, I had to also lose what i gained over the holidays). I'm glad to finally be back on track and heading down. Not too far from the 100lb mark. Gonna go change my ticker!

Good evening girls! Home scale was back down today. Actually lower. 198.8! COD WI Fri. had me the same as Wed. (201.2). Still sticking it out on the challenge.
Made a shrimp stir fry on Friday with the dreaded Shiratakis!!! It was OK. I'm actually so used to not having noodles anymore that it was like, "why bother?" I've had the noodles twice now, and I think I'm done. If I want noodles, I will budget for them and have them. I have soooooo much reading to catch up on, I hope to do that tomorrow since it's almost midnight here. 'Nite all. |
I've been staying exactly the same with WI as well. I'm hoping that I'll have a big loss soon...still sticking it out!

It's been pretty successful for me, but I had a few POOP things yesterday, so we will see at WI. Each person's body is different, that's why the counselors seem to be contradicting themselves all the time ("change up your foods! It makes you lose!" then "Oh, you changed up your foods, it takes the body a while to adjust to that") As we go through this process, try to be aware what helps you lose and what doesn't. I am a little afraid right now because I am seeing a pattern of me losing pretty steadily one week per month, and then the rest of the weeks struggling to lose 1 lb. Lucky me.

Good morning all. Real food today, girls! I actually didn't know what to do with the second starch since there's no slim fast. I packed a mini-cheat/treat in my lunch box - a 100 calorie pack or pretzels. Figured if the COD cheetos can be OP, so can this. Still not sure if I'm going to eat it, though, or get something else. Depends on how hungry I am. Scale was all over the place this morning, so I don't know if I'm up or down. Stupid Scale! Had a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese yesterday. Had my slim fast before I went, and then had the salad bar while there. Had some lite dressing that I counted as a fat (and it was probably a little too much of it), but otherwise, stuck to veggies only. No cheese, bacon bits, croutons, etc. Was pretty proud of myself for that one. Came home and made Pearl's Lazanki and some fish.

Kim................so glad to hear you are doing well on the slimdown challenge. I am thrilled for you. I know you are always working hard on the program, and it is fab for you to be seeing some positive results!!! WTG!!!
So, what I didn't really take into consideration when I started this program was the fact that I cannot tolerate soy. I guess I didn't really think that slimfast had soy protein, and then when it was mentioned on this thread, I guess I didn't think one shake per day would affect me. WRONG. My tummy was just a mess, and therefore, I have quit drinking the slimfast. I am still working hard, and I will finish the contest with a TO like everyone else, but I am pretty much out of the challenge. I have suggested a new challenge, and it has it's own thread. I am still all about the VD challenge. Good luck to everyone on the rest of the challenge, and I am sure I will still be sticking my 2 cents in on this thread, cuz I would hate to miss out on all the fun you all have :) JM..........good to see you doing so well too :) Aren't some of the COD's a joke? Mine never calls. The manager is super nice, and smart, but the rest of them are crack smokers, I"m sure of it. The help changes CONSTANTLY at mine. Three managers since I started in October. Wait - we started TO on Jan 15th, so we will be doing TO again on Mon and Tues next week. It will be all done on Wed AM.

Yeah, I just looked - done Wednesday AM.
And, don't you know, I got the carb craver day flip flopped with the regular day. It can't make that much of a difference, I guess. |
