Cathy, yes, come and join the challenge we love to have you!

vanilla_sky_ak 04-04-2006 11:27 PM

ok,
I'm in my goals are to drink more water, I want to be up to 8 glasses a day come May 1st, and do my 8 minute moves at least 3 times a week.

mejones 04-05-2006 08:16 AM

Day 2 check-in

I am down 4.5 this morning!:carrot: I know I was way up last week, but still happy with that. The challenge will be to keep going now. I am also increasing water, decreasing diet soda. Finally tried those sprinkle in packets - love the raspberry lemonade. Not good on the exercise yet - what a busy week:( It is supposed to be 60 here in Minnesota today so I am planning a walk after school.

LaurieM35 04-05-2006 08:44 AM

I am down 3 this morning but I have lots of trouble pushing that durn water!

floridarusty 04-05-2006 09:22 AM

You ladies are all doing great, I did go weigh and I am up 2 lbs. so the rest of this week I will be very very good. I had catfish last night (yes fried) but I took off all the coating and just ate the fish inside, had a bit of cole slaw and a handfull of french fries. It was just that kind of resturant and we rarely go there but my hubby loves it so much, I gave in. Yes had two glasses of wine as it was happy hour!!!

That is how not to eat and lose weight. lol Don't try it!!!

This will be an OP day with turkey breast tonight, rice and green beans.....my stomach feels better already thinking about it!!!!

flemay 04-05-2006 10:28 AM

Here's my middle week post. I'm doing great on the Challenge. My weight is still the same but today is the time of the month, so next Monday's weight in will be more accurate for my weight loss results. But STS is great! That's a challenge for me lately as I keep going up, down, up again the same 5 pounds. So it's time to get my weight going down for good with this challenge.

I bought a new pedometer so I've started counting my steps again. I find that counting my steps helps me walk more so I can try to meet the recommended daily 10 000 steps for maintenance. I would love to do 15 000 for weight loss one of these days, but I find that almost impossible to do. I had a hard time getting to 10 000 steps the last time. So I'm simply aiming to get as many steps as I can every day closer to 10 000.

LittleFreedom 04-05-2006 01:49 PM

Midweek Check In

Well I've been sticking to this. Not liking it, but it's hasn't been so bad really. I'm having a very hard time with the three hour thing in the morning. Is anyone a fan of Lord of the Rings: "What about second breakfast?" ha! I am a morning eater and can skip food from about 12 pm to 7 pm - so the mornings are hardest, so I try to eat smaller first breakfast and then allow myself a little more at snack time. I'm trying to keep my calories below 2000, but seem to be hitting about 2000... that's okay. I've noticed a big difference on how much I used to eat... so I'm hanging in there. I hope I notice a change by the weekend. If I don't see any inches, I'll just try on my too-tight jeans (size 24). My size 26 jeans are comfortable and a little loose. So I'm in-between. If my too-tight jeans give a little, I'll be on the right track!!! HAHA!

floridarusty 04-06-2006 09:49 AM

Well I am doing terrible!!!! We are car shopping at nights and eating out.....I just have such a hard time in resturants. I am still up from last week-end and up another .5 today for a total of 3.5 lbs. Hopefully a lot is water so I will try to be OP the rest of the week and get some exerise and lots of water in and hopefully it will come off fast.

Phyllis

LaurieM35 04-06-2006 09:59 AM

Not doing too good myself over here! Thank heavens all those fresh baked cookies are gone!!!

Fonty 04-06-2006 10:26 AM

I weighed in this morning at 219. The scale is going up- up- up

omaziz 04-06-2006 10:30 AM

I am not into this challenge Like I wanted to be...I have to get out of my slump...gotta get my butt in gear and jump on the treadmill tonight!!! I know I can do it what is stopping me???

Catsgetnhealthy 04-06-2006 03:17 PM

I'm glad I'm not too late. So my weigh in Sunday 223 :( My goals are to drink 64oz water daily, get 10,000 + steps in daily, no eating after 8pm. I've been doing good on all of those. :carrot: So hopefully I'll see some kind of result sunday. It's been crazy here with the kids on spring break and the hubby off too. lol. Our dog got neutered Tuesday and is back at the vet's today as he licked his incision open. We kept stopping him but once we fell asleep there's not a whole lot that can be done. The pills they gave us, I thought was an antibiotic, hubby said no it was a pain killer and we think that's what's been making him bonkers. He's such a mellow dog and since Tuesday has been high strung. Now I'm off to the laundry mat to dry my clothes as my dryer is making this high pitched screeching noise and they'll be out here tomorrow to service it.
At least I went and got my haircut today and it looks nice.:lol3: Talk to you later.

lucyfan 04-07-2006 11:34 AM

Time to Check In

Well I am doing pretty well. Still working on the water, boy it's really hard to get it all in! I stepped on the scales this morning and they are going in the right direction. I have walked twice this week and I felt so good afterwards. Hope everyone else is having a good week!

bb743 04-07-2006 04:22 PM

Second check-in for the week. I haven't been doing so good with the 3 hr. plan but overall, I'm feeling a bit energetic :running:. Part of my class at school was a relaxation stress relief class :yoga: and about 2 nights later, I did a beginner's Pilates (30 min.) video this week, so I have some extra energy :cb:. I hope that I can keep it. It's getting pretty hot here, (temp is 84 today), so I'm not much into heavy meals. The scale is still hanging around that 1/2 lb that has been tormenting me for weeks (up and down, up and down). I'm drinking that water and still working on that exercise goal.

Fonty 04-07-2006 06:50 PM

Well two days in arow I've drank all my water plus some. I feel pretty good about it.hope next weeks goal goes as well.

Emma_19 04-08-2006 04:22 AM

Fonty 04-08-2006 08:28 AM

The scale is down to 212.5 back on track and loving it! The water makes such a difference.

Phyllis

Catsgetnhealthy 04-09-2006 10:33 AM

Hi everyone~
I weighed in this morning and am 221, a loss of 2lbs this week!! :carrot: And I stuck to my weekly goals. So I have 3pts for the 1st week.
My goals this week are the same:
1) To do my workouts I have planned.
2) Not to eat after 8 p.m.
3) To drink a minimum of 64oz of water a day.
 Here's to an on track week for all of us!!

LaurieM35 04-09-2006 10:44 AM

Well I was surprised that I am down 2.5. I didn't stick to my goal of drinking more water but I will this week cause I feel so durn bloated!

LittleFreedom 04-09-2006 10:59 AM

Weekly weigh in: well, I measured in, not even a decimal point of a change (I'm measuring my arms)... I did mostly good all week... until Thursday - I kind of just crashed and burned. Today though, I'm back at it.

I don't know how to count points, but I'm sure it's minus something.
Oh well - I'm just going to jump back in there.
I have increased my water intake - even on the bad days.

Fonty 04-09-2006 11:31 AM

Great job every one. Remember that even one single positive change from this challenge makes it a success for you.

lucyfan 04-09-2006 02:18 PM

Hey Everyone!

Down 1 for the week (+1 for the challenge)

Same goals for next week:
-increase water intake
-exercise at least 3x
-take vitamins everyday
-stay within point range everyday

Good luck everyone!

ladyinweighting 04-09-2006 05:14 PM

2) Each week on WI day you record (post) your progress...+1 point for every pound lost and -1 point for every pound gained. 2 pts.
3) Week 1 goal stick to my WW points (24) every day this week. 1 pt if I meet goal - 0 pts if I don't. 0 pts.
4) You must post on your specified WI date plus another day durring the week that will get you another +1 point. 1 pt.
5) If you are able to make it through the 4 week challenge give yourself +5 points for completing the challenge.

Lynn

Total for Week 1 = 3 pts.

ladyinweighting 04-09-2006 05:17 PM

Next Week's Goal

I will NOT eat after dinner on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

I will NOT eat bread/rice/pasta/potatoes/sweets on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

sharoncity 04-09-2006 07:09 PM

Okay - Weigh in for 4/9/06 is 185. I am up a pound, so I lose a point. I did however meet my goals for the week, so I get a point for that! ;)

My goals for this week are increased water - 100 oz per day and exercise AT LEAST 3 times.

So I earned a point for posting my starting weight, 1 point for a midweek post, 1 point for meeting my weekly goals and I LOST 1 point for gaining a pound.

Point Total so far = 2

Sharon

flemay 04-12-2006 08:47 AM

My Middle Week Post

Okay, so half the week is already gone by. Time sure flies. I'm not sure what will happen with this week's weight in considering I went to the restaurant last night and had KFC for lunch on Monday. :hun: But I think it's all right. I'm not stressing over this stuff anymore. I was very reasonable on both occassions and exercised last night to burn the extra energy coming in from dinner. Usually, I don't exercise on Tuesday. But I decided to hop on the life cycle and put in 45 minutes. :ebike: The exercise is good, and should help me maintain my weight. I'd like to see a pound loss, but will see. Right now, since I weight in every day, I'm up a pound from Sunday. But I'm not worried. This is normal. Your weight always fluctuates every day.

I'm working from home today, so I will hop on the treadmill for a walking/jogging session today during lunch time. This is the advantage of working from home. I get to exercise during my break. :tread:

Have a nice day everyone!:)

bb743 04-12-2006 03:00 PM

Back with my mid-week check in. Drinking my water, and thinking about exercising. Now if I could just get the rest of me to line up with the thinking then the exercise might happen. I still do my 15 min. walks on my breaks at work, but I have stubborn fat and I know that it takes more to move it.

Catsgetnhealthy 04-12-2006 03:56 PM

Hi everyone! Figured I better check in while I can. ;) I worked Monday and Tuesday, and didn't get in my workouts I planned. :( Though work is one long workout. Monday I got over 20,000 steps and yesterday I got around 18,000. I was going to work today but I'm sore from it and will work tomorrow. I'm going to get in my mile workout this evening. I'm waiting on some more Leslie tapes I ordered. It has a yoga walk in it and I sure could use that after doing basements.
Francine ~ I agree with you on not stressing out over eating out. If you made good choices and are working out, so be it. :D I've changed my mindset from diet to lifestyle and everything in moderation is my new motto. I think I set myself up for failure with a "diet" mindset.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to go read the rest of the posts.

vanilla_sky_ak 04-12-2006 07:28 PM

ok,
I haven't posted recently, in part due to my not quite understanding how to chart my points. My starting weight was 194, I'm back to 190 now. I got my weekly walk in last week and have gone on a short one this week (not sure if I should count it or not). I have failed to do my 8 minute work outs but am doing good at eating pretty close the 3 hour mark and am now working on balancing the food groups/calories.
So this week I am doing ok, no weight loss yet, I really need to focas on those exersises and food portioning.

Emma_19 04-13-2006 05:21 AM

midweek post

Seems more or less everyone is stickin to their goals, except me.. maybe i shouldn't have put excercising as my goal coz i can eat on plan and drink the water and eveything.. its just the excercise that i have trouble with at the moment since i have so much work to do.. I also just started a new course which is Macroeconomics so my load has increased, besides i love economics so i'll probably spend all my free time reading articles and searching about things that interest me in the course..i can't help myself.

Anyways, i think i'll change my goal for next week.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Cheers,
Em

omaziz 04-13-2006 07:52 AM

Don't worry Emma, I am not doing well with my excersizing either. I am just not motivated to move! The weather is getting better so maybe I will come out of my slump... I leave for Baltimore tomorrow night...so I gotta start packing.
