Default My latest conquest in the NSV category!

I have to tell you about my latest adventure in consumption- I have been working on reducing my caffeine intake (it was 5-7 cups per day during the week, not including iced tea!) and is now down to none! This is day 2.

I will allow one, maybe two, this weekend but never more than 2 per day!

Yippee! Heart healthy! I've been drinking herbal tea and plain water! I did throw in a cup of decaf this morning...

Now, I just have to keep working on my cardio! Ugh...

How is everyone else doing on non-scale victories?

I have one for you all. Who loves the breadsticks from Fazoli's? I do, I do!! I went to a b-day party for one of my co-workers at Fazoli's and when I got there there were no breadsticks in site. Thank goodness!!! There was probably 20 of us there and the lady comes by to see if we want any breadsticks. Of course everyone says sure, except for me. Do you know that they laid about 10 breadsticks in front of ME.You would have thought that I had seen my friend, the mouse again . I locked up! I could not believe that I had my worst enemy sitting right in front of me. The ladies kept asking me if I wanted a piece and I said no thank you. One of them asked me if I was dieting and I said no I am just eating healthier foods. They also had a nice big chocolate cake on the other side of the breadsticks. I told them that I wanted to have a small piece of cake, so the breadsticks were out. I am so glad that I did not eat any of that stuff. Those breadsticks are my biggest weakness. I love them!!!

And you felt a little teensy bit "superior" didn't you, Melissa?! Just a smidge - taking the high road - making the good decision... Felt good - and SO IT SHOULD! YAY you...

Laf... I don't know - I drink one cup of coffee in the morning. I always will. If I get tot he poiont where I can not loose anymore weight because of my one stinking lousy rotten cup of coffee then I guess I have found my new goal weight, LOL... I think anything in moderation is okay. After that one cup I ONLY drink good old fashioned H2O the rest of the day. But good for you! If that has been a goal of your and you have worked hard for it - good job!

My NSV was cleaning out my closet and taking out 4 garbage bags of clothes that are too big. I added a bunch in a size 18/20. I've gone from a 26/28 in May to an 18/20 now.

Way to go for those of you who are giving up caffeine. I went from 6-8 cans of diet Coke a day when I started Jorge Cruise to 1 a day -- I will never give up that one though.

You don't need to give it up completely. There are even studies that suggest that in moderation caffeine can help ward off Parkinsons!

I'm not giving it up completely. Good God! I agree with you Daisy! I did actually up my goal weight... unrelated, though. I went through my journals and decided 135 was more realistic for the amount of muscle I hope to add. Now, I just have to make sure it's muscle and not chub!

I cut the caffeine because one cup just rapidly turned to 6 or 8 when I was at the office! Not good. I am trying to have one cup in the morning, two max. My rule is I have to make it at home or walk to the coffee shop for it. It's a good motivator for getting me up in the morning and adding steps (you'll note the no caffeine days were lower in steps!!! hahaha). I really wanted to see if I could go without it without getting sick or sacrificing focus. It was OK. I really thought I'd have headaches and murderous thoughts... kind of disappointing not to! LOL

Marcie- the soda will help lose weight, too! I have a friend that gave up diet Coke and, even though it's diet, lost 10 pounds over a few months because of the chemicals and the fact that sweets make you crave more sweets... way to go!

Susan- closets are next on my list. Thanks for the reminder! Right now, they are full of the clothes I want to fit into... I currently own two pairs of slacks and one pair of jeans that fit (and the jeans are a little tight). I am so excited to get cute summer clothes that look cute on me!!!
