Talking Saturday, Feb. 11

OK girls WI is right around the corner!!! I am up 1 lb today....but 2 days ago it was up 2 lbs. so I'm doing better.

Still finishing up cleaning for my daughters visit, they don't arrive until 8 p.m. from Michigan so I have all day and thought I'd sneak in here quickly and post.

Wow a lot of you are getting snow....we will only have to deal with temps in the mid 50's for a couple of days....but in Florida that is COLD for us.
Today it is 80 and tomorrow 58....no wonder my sinus is killing me.

Exercised 3x's this week for about 45 min. each time so I am very happy with that and a bit sore this a.m. as they added some new moves to my routine...
ouch!!!!

Good luck to everyone on their WI day....mine will be Monday.

Phyllis

I am still trying to adjust back to "real life" The kids are paying me back! It is cold and windy but its NOT RAINING!!!! And I skipped a whole week in February of winter weather (read rain!)
The kids got us up at 7am - don't they realize I'm still on vacation time!!! Not much planned today. Gonna clean up the yard - we've had lots of wind and there are tree branches everywhere. Do a little laundry and pick up the house. After I kick all the kids outside! It really is good to be home!

We had a perfect, wonderful, amazing! vacation! Spent a week laying ni the sun, dancing, being with family, shopping (when we felt like it) and were treated like royalty. We had a cook (Slybia) and a houseman (Hilario - who had a crush on my hubby )My breakfast was waiting for me when I got up, my laundry was done, my daquiri (virgin) brought to me at the pool, my dinner was served to me every night (exept Sunday so we had pizza LOL) Sylbia asked how we did on their day off, grin - mucho pizza she says LOL! I napped when I felt like it, read when I felt like it, danced when I felt like it - . . .. . . pretty much did whatever I felt like! It was wonderful being with my family!
We had a resident mascot - an iguana somebody named ugs. He hung out on the wall by the pool and lots of geckos - did you know they chirp like birds? When its pitch black and it wakes you up - you pray its a bird and not some sort of insect thats gonna eat you!
The weather was perfect. Mid 80's during the day and 60's at night with a little humidity but not enough to feel hot and sticky.
I will see if I can figure out how to post some pictures.
I am looking forward to getting back on plan. I was pleasantly surprised that I only gained 2-3 lbs! I felt like I had to have gained at least 20!!!
Since I gotta be home, it's good to be!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

We went to Puerto Vallarta. The villa we stayed at is owned by a guy who offered Alaska airline employees (my mom) a discount last year. He owns at least 2 - the one we stayed at last year and the one we stayed this time. This one was right on the rocks and Banderas Bay was 50 ft below our villa. We didn't have tours lined up or a tour guide and I feel we did fine. There are numerous resources if we chose to go on an outing. We had massages by our pool and last year the guys went fishing. We rented kayaks right next door at a private beach for $10 an hour.
My bags are still packed! When do we leave!

Donna - Welcome back! Thats sounds like my perfect vacation!! Someday.....

Phyllis - try to stay on track as much as possible while your company is there. Exercise 3 X's - Good for You!! Stick with it - you CAN reach goal!!

It is Saturday. I had a bunch of running around to do this morning. I've got a little break before I have to take Bobby to basketball. Then it is off to church for 4 pm and somewhere in there pick up Robert from work. I have NO ambition to do anything else today. That is a shame, because I have an awful lot to do around here! I picked up DVDs for while we are snowed in tonight and tomorrow. I am going to pick up the fixings for lasagna to make tomorrow. We will have oven fried chicken tonight. So those are my plans - nothing exciting, but oh well.

We are supposed to get between 8 and 14 inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow. We shall see........

TTFN- Sharon

Allie - there is no reason why you couldn't do a search for vacation rentals and pay for your own airfare. We stayed at a villa for the privacy and because there were so many of us. I hope you get a chance to go. Puerto Vallarta is wonderful, not as Americanized as Cancun or Cabo but all the ammentites readily available.
If you wanted to stay in a resort, there are plenty of them. I know the Krystal is incredible and near the marina and airport.

Maybe we should plan a JC trip!

Donna - that sounds absolutely fantastic! I'm glad you had a great time.

We spent the day returning ceramic tile I bought last May to do my bathroom and decided not to use -- I can't believe they took it back after all this time. I bought some peel & stick lineoleum (sp?) tiles instead - they have pretty red roses in the middle of a brownish tile.

I redid our bathroom floor with a sheet of vinyl flooring and it wasn't that hard. I thought the adhesive tiles looked harder! Our bathroom is definitely not square... I was also worried about the seams with all the water. You do have to pull the toilet and replace the wax seal if you use the sheet vinyl, though, but it really came out nice and turned out to be less expensive.

I want to have my own show on DIY... even if it's just to help finance the move to get rid of the ugliest gold 70's bathroom sink you have ever seen!
