Sharon,

Did you ever read "Taming of the Chew?" If not, & you'd like to read it, PM your address to me & I'll send you a copy.

Good morning ladies. I can't believe it's almost noon and I've accomplished almost nothing at work today so far - oh well.

Ladies, tell that inner fat girl to shut the heck up or you'll sit on her! And bounce up and down!

Phyllis - sorry to hear about your husband. I will say a prayer for him and hope everything turns out well.

Lafayette -- when you are in Vegas if you are a buffet, my nutrition counselor says to eat a large plate of salad first. Then you will be partially full and won't be able to stuff yourself too much. Then she suggests protein, protein, protein and if you are still hungry, then have a little carbs. I got married in Vegas almost 2 years ago and I know we did a ton of walking until my feet hurt every night. Good cardio.

Laurie - I hope you feel better soon. Try putting some Vicks Vapor Rub under your nose - John swears it will clear your head and help you breathe.

Did anyone see Al Roker and Jorge on the Today Show this morning? They were at McDonald's learning how to eat fast food. Then they went to Al's favorite restaurant and Jorge showed him how to portion control and take the rest home. They had this piece of chocolate cake with sauce and whipped cream (I think -- they just showed a picture) and Jorge only let Al have 2 bites and then took it away. He also had to put most of his prime rib in a take home box.

Al lost another 2 lbs for 12 lbs in 3 weeks. I figure he has someone who shows up at the prescribed time with a proper Cruise plate for him to eat and he doesn't have to spend as much time doing his own meals. But maybe not.

NO MORE POTATO CHIPS FOR ME!!!!

I know where you are coming from. I weighed myself this morning because I too was going through TOM the day of weigh in and I am now down to 157. I was at 158 because of it. It was very frustrating, but we can move this scale this week. Lets do it.

Needless to say yesterday was spent in Dr.s and hospital and eating is so messed up as was the exercise I didn't do yesterday. Had a TV dinner last night when I was home for 30 mins. and I know the salt killed me up a lb. On the other hand dh is saying they are starving him......lol

So I am off to the hospital, work and hopefully exercise he should get out this afternoon as soon as the Dr. reads the MRI and that is clear.

Wish us luck.....Phyllis
Phyllis -- I am so sorry to hear about your DH. I hope and pray he will be ok! It sounds as if they think it will be so I hope that will be confirmed. Please let us know!

I love going to Vegas!!! Watch out for those all you can eat buffets!!!! Have fun!

I met with one of the friends I'm heading out of town with at lunch today- she's in the same boat. Dieting and unwilling to buy new clothes that she doesn't want to fit into. We made a pact to work out while we're there. Yippee! I was sure I was going to have to endure snide comments about how only a crazy person would diet in Vegas... thank God!

It's not easy to diet in Vegas, but when i was there I lost weight from all the walking. We walked MILES every day.

Janet,

If you have a chance, be sure to go to the Hoover Dam. It's an absolutely amazing experience.

Also, don't worry too much about eating in Vegas. They have LOTS of smorgasboards. That means LOTS of choices. The trick is to decide BEFORE you walk into the restaurant what you will eat at each meal.

Enjoy!

Yes, we can do this and we will do this. I am looking for a good number on next weight in. What's a good number........any number that I can subtract from my last WI.
