Susan If I can do it anyone can do it. I never drank any water all growing up, I detested it. Nasty stuff. In 2000 I slowly started drinking it, I mean slowly 8 oz was all I could attempt to swallow. Who would ever think that water is actually good for you! My skin looks and feels better. I really do think it aides in my weight loss also. I rarely if ever drink soda any more and juice is about the same. I never imagined water would become my main source of fluid

Tammy!

Doing great on the water and exercise but forgot breakfast yesterday. I was so jet-lagged I barely made it to the coffee before I took a nap. Today, I got back on the wagon!

21 day Recommitment Challenge for me!

I fell off the wagon but I am glad to report I am now back on it ready to go!
Today is Day 3 of my recommitment! My 2 first days went well!

1. Eat healthy balanced meals and no more binging!
2. Do 8MM every day
3. Exercise 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes
4. Drink water
5. Have fun and get that weight loss started again
6. Eat more grain products and fruits for snacks to meet Canada's Healthy Food Guide.
7. Stay away from Crispers and Chocolate! LOL
8. stay motivated

As you said, it takes 21 days to get back on track for good. So far, so good! I'm up for my challenge along with you all! Let's do this. We are worth it!

Man, I am fighting the water thing.

Breakfast has been Kashi bars. I just can't seem to make myself make breakfast- some mornings getting out of bed is a little rough!

Also, I switched to a class at Bally called PowerFlex last night. Ow! I just didn't feel like I was pushing myself very hard with the cardio. Half the time I just power walked the track- which was exhausting but not really increasing my endurance or anything.

Outside of the challenge, I dropped my caffeine to three cups per day from almost a whole 12-cup whole pot!

I'm still hanging in there, though. Water, here I come!

Water challenge days 11 12 13 2/3 2/4 2/5

Completed. Almost time to start thinking about a new personal challenge for me. I may start the veggie fruit one again. That did not go well the first time.

Hey, Everyone is doing so great. Keep up the good work and don't forget if you mess up you must start over at day one. A habit takes 21 days to establish but only 3 days to fall back into one that you have not entirely gotten rid of.

Water has made my skin feel smoother and it feels softer. Anyone else notice anything?

21 Day challenge for me,

I hate way to much last week, been having problem a bit of problem loosing lately, actually I loose for about 3 weeks and the fourth and 5 weeks I don't losse and get discourage and start eating at night.

Here's my commitment for the next 21 days

Drink 8 glasses of Water a day--love water,
-8MM every morning --except on sunday
-additional exercise -3 times a week,
-For afternoon snack, stay away from carbs
-Think positive everyday
-Write my thoughts and feeling in my journal

AFter doing a bit of research on thyorid problem, I had found that carbs are not good for me, but i know I have to eat carbs to lose weight,

Syldervan, I'm not sure you really do have to eat carbs all that much to lose weight. I know Jorge says to, but . . .

Honestly, the majority of the carbs I eat come from yogurt or milk and fruits/veggies. I'm allergic to almost all starches, so I just quit eating them.

I lost 80 lbs eating about 25-30 grams of carbs a day. I usually stay in the 35-40 gram range right now.

I try to consume dairy in the form of yogurt or milk at breakfast with fruit. I have veggies for lunch and dinner. My doctor says that's perfectly fine for me since I can't touch a whole grain product. Sweet potatoes and brown rice were getting boring!

I do eat a protein bar in the mornings before my workout like Body for Life or Zone bars or now I found these Carbwise Caramel Coconut Crunch bars that are great.

for me I have to eat carbs, if I don't I get craving, but i will emlimate for my afternoon snacks, I am thinking that maybe it is the problem why I can't loose. I have a snack with carbs in the morning and veggies in the afternoon.

For myself, when I don't lose, when I look carefully at what I have eaten during the week, I can see quite clearly I have overeaten on a day or two. Perhaps, you should keep a food journal for a couple of weeks and see what happens when you don't lose when week 4 or 5 comes. Did you overeat on one day? But also, keep in mind, that it is normal for your body to plateau. It may be thinking it's in starvation mode. Something our DNA has picked up from our ancestors during the depression. (I read this in an article somewhere)
