Hi Amanda!
I just joined today also...I started (again) this past Monday with the South Beach diet...so far so good...its not as hard as I thought it would be. We are close to the same current weight and goal weight, so if you need a buddy or someone to vent to, I'm right there with you!!!

Default I'm new too! I'm also about your size.

I weighted myself about a week ago, and rang in at 179. Way too fat for my 5'2" body! My goal weight is 150.... while I'd really love to be 135, I know that is just not going to happen. I figure, 30 lbs is obtainable. I'm doing the Somona Diet and I'm on day three. Have you chosen a diet, or are you just cutting back?

I started the South Beach diet this Monday and have already been seeing results. For me, its been more mental than anything else--my mind is missing carbs and everything but I'm not really experiencing too many negative physical effects.
What is the Sonoma diet like?

Default Lynsda... and all others here... I'm so excited to see others w/similiar goals!

Lyns... I think Sonoma and SB are pretty close from what I've read. Sonoma will let you have carbs, but in the form of Whole grains. So we can eat whole wheat bread, wraps, spaghetti, etc. There are three waves, and the first wave is 10 days w/out fruit. I'm jones for something sweet, but I'm resisting!

It looks like there are six of us in the same weight area, and I'm sure we could all be great for each other as a support system. I really need to discuss my weight issues on a daily basis, and I've looking for a message board that offers that kind of daily support w/some regulars on it. I hope I've found the place!

Jumping on in....

I'm new here as well, I started losing weight last fall and after 34lbs, have plateaued BIG TIME. I'm currently 190, shooting for 160 by September 1st and 5'8". I haven't picked a diet yet, right now I'm just watching what I eat, so if anyone has suggestions for a good one that won't cost a ton of money for food (student budget) I'm all ears.

HELP! I lost four pounds in four days and quit! I have soo much more to go, but have lost the desire, (read the new thread I began to find out my story!). I truely want to feel and look better, but right now I seem to not care a whole lot. Please keep me in your prayers!

Hi Everyone-
I'm with you as far as daily support...I need to talk about stuff like this to keep it in my mind and keep the will power strong. I've been seeing results as I've brought my eating under control, so that is definitely helping. I've found that with SB anyways, its easier to focus on what you CAN eat versus what you can't. Its also been fun to go on scavenger hunts for some of these low sugar ingredients. My body is still adjusting to the drop in carbs, but overall it feels really good to get back under control.

Jennie-I know how you feel and I'll be thinking about you. When you're ready to do this, you'll know.

Happy Friday everyone!

Default How's everyone doing today?

Today is day 5 for me. While I feel better, I have to say, I'm still hungry. I'm not hungry right after eating... but a few hours later I have that rumbling in the stomach. (Nothing a few cookies couldn't help with... but I won't).

I am trying so hard to be good, and make better food choices, but it's sure an uphill battle.

Where did everyone go? I thought this might actually be a group that could be buddies. So many of us were around the same weight and goals. Did everyone post to a different forum?
