Hey Tiff--I'm in!! I lost another lb last week, so that's a total of 9 for me in about a month...I really need to step up the exercise though. I'm part of a 30 min/30 days exercise thread, but I currently have a deficit. Oh well, today is a new day! As for what I'm giving up...hmmm, I haven't really been eating much bad stuff, but when I do it's usually a Snickers Cruncher or one of those little 25 cent baggies of Doritos so I'll X those completely off my list. Weigh in day for me is usually Saturday, but I'll go ahead and make it Friday moving forward and will report in the AM with a current weigh-in...praying for a loss!!

OK I'm ready to start--stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down another 1.5 lbs for a total of 10.5--WOO HOO!! No Doritos or Snickers Cruncher bars yet, but haven't gotten in exercise...I have to get 2 hours today to make up what I'm missed this week. Oh well, at least the scale is still moving!!

I am new to this forum thingy but this group sounds about right for me. I'm 21 and due to my college workload (and playload), I gained not only the freshman fifteen but the sophmore 10. I really want to get to my pre-college weight again and have started a diet and exercise program that I hope works. I would love to hear advice and encouragement to those who are in similar situations to me. I've alrady lost a little over 5 pounds and would like to lose 10 by the time school starts again, August 26. It seems possible, right?

Hey Everyone, My name is Amber, and I'm fairly new to the board. I've been a member for awhile, but don't post that often. I'm 22 and just graduated from College. I weigh 164 and my goal is to be at 135-140 by January 1. I really have to make this diet work this time, because I have alot on the line. I enlisted in the Air National Guard, and I leave for Basic training the first week in January. I'm doing cardio, and also lifting weights. I have to be able to run and do push-ups and sit-ups, which I can barely do 1 push up and about 12 situps at the moment. I am looking for someone to buddy up with and e-mail back and forth...If you interested please esend me a PM and then I'll give you my e-mail address or IM screen name!

First of all, welcome Amber!!

Well, it's weigh-in day and I'm down 2.5 more pounds! Still haven't eaten doritos or a snickers cruncher, and am doing OK on the exercise although I could definitely do better...

How'd everyone else do this week?

I've been doing ok, I've lost another pound which is good. My problem is that I have an odd schedule, I waitress at night and work so hard that I don't eat anything from 3 to 11 and then I have a late dinner. It's usually some bread and chicken that the chef makes and I can't insult him by bringing my own food. Also do you think diet soda will derail me from my diet?

I wouldn't drink JUST the diet soda, but a soda every once in a while shouldn't do any harm at all. I'm down 2.5 more lbs since Friday--finally starting to really move!!

Well diet soda has no calories in it, so I would not be worried. Water is always best though. Dont feel bad about eating late. You earned the meal after buring all the calories at work. Just keep you eye on your late night meals. Grilled chicken and salads will be best instead of the bread. You would be amaized at how many calroies are in bread rolls. As long as you stick to your caloric goals it late night eating is ok. Just don't eat 1000 calories you are not going to burn off at the end of the evening.

I had a crazy week this week at our restaurant. Lots of running around but it was fun cause a couple of famous faces came in! Maybe all the moving around I did helped me drop a few pounds! I'm feeliing pretty good and I hope to reach my mini-goal soon! How is everyone else doing?
