I am also new here, as it seems many of us are! It's great that we have such motivation right now, but I'm really looking for some others to keep that motivation going past the first month!
I'm 32 years-old and the mother of 2 girls-- ages 6 and 2. I have struggled with 20 - 30 lbs. my entire life. However, after literally "eating for 2" during my pregnancies, I am now struggling with 100 lbs. I've been on WW for months, but haven't had much success. Just found out that I'm insulin resistant, so now I'm on meds and following WW, allbeit a bit differently. I am scared of my health issues and am really motivated right now. My fear is that once the "newness" of my health problems wears off, I may get too comfortable. I am upset with myself for not taking better care of "the house of my soul" as I once heard it called.
If you would like to buddy up, I am ready to get this show on the road! I'd love to hear your story, struggle, and plan, and know how I can motivate you so that we can both be healthier! Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested. I look forward to hearing from you!
It is good to have you here! I am sorry to hear of your recent findings of healthy problems... I my got diagnosed w/ high blood pressure at 19 so I know the feeling. My meals are alot blander now.... lol
Don't beat yourself up for the day but look towards the future. Set yourself up personal goals to look forward to, short and long term.. AND NEVER GIVE UP!
I'm A Sahm of three boys and I know about eating for 2....lol
I just started back on diet again. I use the slim fast method. It seems to work for me. I too have health problems but mine is my blood. I have to take blood thinners and can't eat too many green vegetables. I also, know what is like to eat for two. I have two children 16 and 10. I need to lose 100lbs. Two years ago I lost 93lbs but I gave up when I stopped losing. In the last six months I have gained 40lbs back. I wish I would of kept my eye on the goal, which was to be thin. Now, I am basically starting over again.
Hi I to am looking for a buddy. I started my diet this past week and hope that 2005 is my year as well as yours. Lets support each other all the way to thin!Have a great day Virginia
Just wanted to let you know I'm a "newbie" too, I started WW back in Oct '04 lost almost 12 lbs, gained 3 lbs back over the holidays and weighed in today to find out I lost 1.2 lbs-not much but its a start. Keep your head up. I had 3 sons in 4 years and I need to lose at the very least 60 lbs. I want to see my sons 8,6 & 4 grow up, they told me my cardiac enzymes are elevated-which could mean a heart attack, so I have a "change of lifestyle" not a diet plan. If I can do it so can you. Should you need a push email [email protected], I'll push you if you push me.
Good Luck- no that seems wrong- Way to go girl, your on your way, that seems better- Monique
Hello everyone! This is my very first post... just found this website and am very excited to participate with you! My name is Melissa and I need to lose 113 pounds total. I lost 3 last week and I am excited...at least it wasn't a gain!
I am 34... soon to be 35 and have been climbing the scales for about the last 9 years. I always seem to start and stop dieting... accomplishing 20-30lb. losses, then gaining it back again. After the birth of my two year old, the baby weight never came off and now I am bigger than ever. But the decision I made was to dedicate the next year to becoming fit and happy with my appearance. Every year I make a "resolution" to lose the weight and never do it.... but this year I will do it!!!! This will be great to help eachother....
Tonight is my first night of water aerobics!!! I will let you know how it goes!
Welcome and Congratulations Melissa and johnsonboy on your loses! Yesterday, went good! I walked for 30 minutes and then played some basketball with my sons team. I plan to lift weights after work today and I have stayed on my diet plan successfully the last two days!
Hello again! My water aerobics class went well last night. At first I didn't think I could make it thru the whole class...but I did it! I just kept going, and soon the hour had passed. I am going again tomorrow night. I have don well today with my eating.. Also congrats to you Rhonda for being so active! And Johsonboy, any loss is good.. little by little we will all reach our goals... one pound at a time!
The best thing is ... this time next year we will look completely different! I can't wait to go shopping ... when I can complain "all of my clothes are too big..." LOL I will be telling everyone! Ha!
Congrats to everyone .... just taking the first steps sometimes are the hardest.
