Smile Constant struggle, but setting new goals

Hello! My name is Alisa and I'm 49 years old. I originally joined this site years ago, but have not been active on it since June 2010. A lot has changed since then! I did pretty well the first time around, losing about 30 lbs., but didn't quite meet my goal. Gained some back, so went on Weight Watchers beginning in May 2012 to nip it in the bud. A few months later, got engaged. The wedding, especially dress-hunting, was huge motivation! Was at my lowest in years (5'2" at 139 lbs.) at that point (April 2013, 48), but since we have been married, the weight has been creeping up again.

The husband and I both love to cook - unfortunately, he pays no mind to fatty, high-carb foods (although he should) and often doesn't show up at the gym after work (we're supposed to be motivating each other). So, I need to find my support elsewhere. Hoping to meet - no, exceed - my goal this time around. Have also set a fitness goal of running/walking 1000 miles this year. Have been doing 5Ks pretty regularly during the cooler months and want to work toward medaling in my age group.

Hi Alisa! BACK! Good for you getting back on track and going to the gym whether your DH shows up or not! You can do this! Good luck!

Hi Alisa, welcome to the forums

Since you've lost weight in the past you must have an idea of what works for you. It's great that you're taking the step to keep yourself motivated to do this regardless of whether your DH will or not. Good luck
