I have been lurking here for many years, reading the forums. When I first started lurking, there used to be "journals" here at 3FC, but no blogs,that's how long ago it was! I always return to this sight for informative, insightful and friendly posts. It is such a nice place for support. I'm not sure why I held back for so long in joining. I'm so happy to finally be one of the chicks and I hope to be successful in my journey!
To make a long story short, my main goal is to get healthy and feel comfortable in my own skin. After working full time for 16 years at a desk, and being completely sedentary, I now have a more active career that involves getting out and driving, and seeing people. I thought when I switched careers, and became less sedentary, that weight loss would inevitably follow, but alas, it is proving harder than I expected. I'm sure that's due to age and a slower metabolism, but also poor eating habits developed over time. I know all about clean eating, but I have to admit, that knowing and doing are two different things. This seems like a safe place to admit that I have really let my self become a low priority over the years, and its time to make my fitness, and health number one.
I hope to reach my goals thru clean eating, and working out, and just basically getting into the habit of making good choices. I always have good intentions, but the follow thru is where I get off track. Perhaps here with some accountability, direction, and support, I will be able to finally reach my goals.
