Smile I'm New Here and looking for HELP

Hello,

My name is Mellie. I'm 38 years-old and live in MI. I've been wanting to lose weight for a while and decided to give this site a go. I'm looking for ideas on how to get in shape, have more energy, and be all around healthy. There are a couple of things standing in my way. First, I am a very picky eater. I wish I loved veggies and fish, but I don't. Second, I am soooo not motivated to work out. I would rather read and sleep. So, I am looking for some helpful ideas and buddies that can help motivate me.

My first bit of advice to you would be to look up healthy recipes that use the ingredients you love most (for me it's tomatoes and chicken). I use a site called allrecipes.com

Next, make your exercise fun and then it won't feel like exercise. I do wii fit plus and zumba!

You can do it!

Hi MellieB, welcome! The good news is it's looks like you don't have a lot of weight to lose, although I know that just a few pounds can be very stubborn. You might keep a journal for a week (if you haven't done so previously) and see how many calories you usually use to maintain your weight, and then keep eating the foods you like but reduce your portions. Also, could you take walks instead of working out. It always surprises me how much of a difference just walking makes. There is a buddy thread here, and the monthly weight loss challenge under "Chicks Up for a Challenge" is also a good option. There will be an August thread soon. You'll get lots of support there. I'm fairly new too but wanted to say hello!! I do zumba. I love the dancing but yet it doesn't feel like I'm "working out." You will find some great support here!!
