Height: 5

Default Was:121, Am: 150.!! Want to be 121 again

I gained 30 pounds over 2 years following a bad break up and life style change.
I liked the way I looked. Now I hate myself and hate the way I look.

I start diet all determined, but half way I give up.
I need support from you people. I am new to this group but after reading all the wonderful weight losses I feel Talking about it could help me.

My goal is to steadily loose around 3 pounds a week.

Hope I can avoid random binges.

Hi Matherleey611!

Wishing you success! Are you following a specific diet?

I agree, seeing all the people losing weight on these boards is motivating.
So, if you feel like binging come here instead! LOL

Take care!

You have come to the right place. We are all here to support you and help you when you need it, so don't be afraid to ask if you need help
Binges are normal, especially when you are starting out and you'll get better at saying no with practice.

If talking about it helps, you can start a blog http://3fatchicks.com/diet-blogs/ to help keep you on track.

How much time do u think does it generally take to lose around 20 pounds.?
As I can't see results soon enough, it makes me doubtful.

I am working out 5 times a week.
I have sworn off complex carbs and eating healthy.

Is there a specific diet I should follow?

not to sound vague or 'passing the buck' but only you can determine what kind of diet you can follow. You said you swore off complex carbs, you mean whole grain bread, pasta, etc? Maybe South Beach diet is for you.

I would guard against hoping for 3 pounds a week loss though, so you don't get discouraged. I think 1 to 2 pounds a week might be more realistic, especially that you don't have a large amount to lose, 20 pounds, but that is actually a large percent of your total weight.

best wishes!

Welcome!

What did you do differently when you used to be 121lbs? Is there any way you can incorporate those things back into your life? For example, I used to be 175, and went up to 212. I thought that since I used to work office hours, and go for an hour's walk every lunchtime, and I used to eat smaller portions and snack less, re-incorporating those things would be a good place to start.

I've lost 23lbs in 4.5 months. Nowhere near as fast as I'd like, but hey... Those 4.5 months were going to pass anyway, and weirdly enough, if I don't over think it and get stressed out, cutting out loads of foods and constantly analysing my behaviour, my weight loss actually speeds up. It's not an exact science by any means!

I really hope it works out well for you Do post wherever you feel comfortable, I can't explain how helpful it is
