Default Flubber Be Gone

Hi! Let me explain myself! I am over 50, married to my best friend and worst enemy! (he has the metabolism of a race horse) I have a love affair with all foods and my hubby loves me just the way I am! My problem is that I don't love the aches and pains of carrying around this excess weight! My hips hurt, my knees hurt and all of the pain is from my weight! I was well on my way to getting the weight off and exercising regularly, until Otcober of last year(2012). A cancerous tumor developed on my left leg, and I had to have surgery. I ended up with a long recovery due to infections and my exercise went to the way side. Although I have full control of my healthy diet, i am having a slow recovery to my exercise regime. I started my walking program (when weather is decent enough) and am up to 1.5 miles daily, and increasing it a little bit each day!

High-5 to you for starting walking! Sounds like you've been through alot over the past year and going slow is the best.

'Hope these boards keep you motivated too!

Love the title!

Welcome to 3FC. I'm sorry you've had some health issues, but getting back into the swing of things so quickly is awesome! Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Daisy- a happy flower!

Welcome! Glad you joined us. I suffered a disabling back injury while on the job in 2008. Before that, I walked 5.5 miles per day. Since then, the docs will not let me stand or walk more that 15 minutes at a time. I found water aerobics last summer and I am doing that 45-60 mins 3 days per week. I wish I could walk again. I love the outdoors. Congrats to you for being able to get back into your walking for exercise. Take it slow and easy and enjoy the beautiful outdoors around you. Blessings,
