Default Hello from someone that is scared :)

Well first off hello to everyone! I was lurking through this website tonight and decided to join. I've never really done this sort of thing so I'm a bit apprehensive.

I signed up here because I need some support to lose this weight. I'm 195 pounds and I feel horrible. I can't look at myself in the mirror and I hate going out because I feel like everyone is looking at me.

I'm believe I am ready for a change and this website has helped push me in the right direction. You all seem like lovely people and are supportive of everyone here. I don't really have a plan yet except to get to the gym. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks for reading.

Mel

Welcome! This is an awesome forum and will find so much support here. Take it slow to start with so you are not getting too overwhelmed and or so sore you dont want to stay with it. Much better to start small and stay with it for big returns in the long run, instead of getting frustrated and not able to stay with it.

Welcome! So glad you are here. No need to be afraid. Even though I'm a long time member of this site, I've been gone way too long and just came back. I'll be the first to tell you you are *so* wise to be here! I've gained back so much of the weight I lost when I let myself get away from the wonderful support I've found here. You'll do great! It's a very friendly place.

Welcome and good luck ! I would suggest that an eating plan as well as the gym. Moving more and eating less is the way to lose.

Wink ..me too!

This is my first post - so I can empathise with you and as I'm 206 pounds have similar feelings about myself and reading this sentence back can't believe my current weight well done for registering especially not waiting until after Christmas/New Year - we could both lose weight and kick off an exercise program by then!! Good luck to you and I'll follow your progress - let's look out for one another xx

Good plan. I am not waiting until after Christmas either! I have already done so much damage by being "off" for months and I am sure not going to add more to it in the next month!!
