Hi Dee
I am also a newbie poster and have been lurking here for about a month. I can relate to you. When I started my weight loss journey in January of this year I also had about 100 lbs to lose (actually I could lose 110). I psyched myself up because I was so miserable being fat. I hated the way I looked, the way my clothes fit, how I was perceived by other people. I just was at the "tipping point" and ready to make a major change in my life. I knew this was something I had to do and that it would take a lot of work.
I made a commitment to myself to put in an all out effort for 6 months. Looking back, I didn't really have a plan. It sort of evolved as time went on. First, I decided that I would go to the gym 6 days a week, no excuses. So, every day I went, if I felt like it or not, I just made myself go. Then, I started eating healthier and eventually started calorie counting. That is when I really started to drop the pounds.
I have learned that weight loss is about 80% diet and 20% exercise. So getting your eating habits under control is so very important to your success.
I wish you well on your journey. Try to build consistency into your routine and even if you have a less than perfect day, never give up. Focus on the goal but enjoy the journey.
