Desperately seeking support
Hello Everyone,
My name is Dee. I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I have been fighting the battle of the bulge for nearly 15 years. Every diet and weight loss plan I've tried ended due to a lack of motivation on my part. As a result I just continued to gain so much weight that I am now 100lbs overweight. Finally, I realized I can't do it alone and look forward to being apart of this community. |
Welcome Dee! :yay:
Good luck with your weight loss! Any ideas on what weight loss plan you are going to use this time? (calorie counting, WW etc?) there are support communities for most plans, which can be a real help while losing weight |
Welcome and good luck ! You have made the first step by coming here.

Hi Dee
I am also a newbie poster and have been lurking here for about a month. I can relate to you. When I started my weight loss journey in January of this year I also had about 100 lbs to lose (actually I could lose 110). I psyched myself up because I was so miserable being fat. I hated the way I looked, the way my clothes fit, how I was perceived by other people. I just was at the "tipping point" and ready to make a major change in my life. I knew this was something I had to do and that it would take a lot of work. I made a commitment to myself to put in an all out effort for 6 months. Looking back, I didn't really have a plan. It sort of evolved as time went on. First, I decided that I would go to the gym 6 days a week, no excuses. So, every day I went, if I felt like it or not, I just made myself go. Then, I started eating healthier and eventually started calorie counting. That is when I really started to drop the pounds. I have learned that weight loss is about 80% diet and 20% exercise. So getting your eating habits under control is so very important to your success. I wish you well on your journey. Try to build consistency into your routine and even if you have a less than perfect day, never give up. Focus on the goal but enjoy the journey. |
Thank you all for your advice. I plan to start with 2,000 calorie a day diet plus 1 hour of walking/light weights for the first month and adjust after that.
