Hello there! My name is Rae, and... well, like the title says, I'm a college student home for the summer. For me, weight loss has been an ongoing journey of many years. At my highest weight, I was just twelve years old, probably around 5'6" or so, weighing in at 178 pounds. I slowly began to drop weight over the years, and just before college, I made a huge push to drop the pounds so I could start off as a thinner and more confident me!
This past spring, I had a bad back injury - a herniated disc in my lower back. It was so painful that I was virtually confined to my bed for some time, and I was only able to pass my classes with the help of some very good professors. I was very depressed about the pain, and at times, it seemed no end was in sight, so I continued to eat as though I was still working out (I was a thrower for the track and field team, albeit a supreme amateur), even though I wasn't. And I was back up to 155 pounds.
Even though I'm not clinically overweight (I'm 5'9"), I have a generally small frame that does not hold weight well, and I am definitely feeling a little chubby! So I'm ready to take this weight off and feel more awesome than ever!
Also, I am a vegetarian who is trying to eat mostly vegan. So... that's fun.
...Hi! : )

I see by your post count that you've already got some posts in, so I'm guessing you're already exploring the site. People on here are really nice, and there's a lot of college folks, vegetarians/vegans, and people dealing with health issues that affect their weight loss. I hope to see you around the boards!
