Cool Hey yall! This time im SERIOUS

Hey everyone! I think ill just dive right in..

Im 21. 5'4. And weighed 185 at my heaviest, just a few days before my 21st birthday. Needless to say it was not all its cracked up to be. I have always had an issue with weight and as a young kid I really tried many many times to be normal and thin. But it never could last and my "diets" were lucky to get a 2 week lifespan.

May 3rd I began my weight loss journey. I weighed in at 180.8lbs and put myself on a calorie counting diet which im mostly assisted by an app on my phone. Myfitnesspal. Since then I have lost 5lbs and am down to 174.8 I work out at the gym with yoga and zumba classes as well as cardio and machines on the weekend.

My goal weight is 135 which I hope to achieve by my 22nd birthday in December. My first short term goal is 160 by 7/15

This is the first time I've ever felt so happy and confident in myself and in my plans. I really think this will be my last diet. I think this is the start of my new lifestyle.

Welcome! I just joined the site yesterday

I'm 25 and in the same boat. I'm 5'4" and weigh 177. Hopefully we can check back in to keep each other motivated! I'm going to dl that app, thanks for the tip. I've learned that being accountable for what I eat by writing it all down helps tons. But that gets tedious, so this app sounds perfect.

Good luck!

Hello! Glad to have you here.

I'm in the same boat--same height, around the same weight you are now, with basically the same goal weight. I've found this site to be invaluable, and I'm sure you will too. Lots of people here count calories and if ever you've a question about something, don't hesitate to start a thread and ask! You may get conflicting advice, but you will get something.

Awesome! I just started at the beginning of May, calorie counting does the trick for sure as well as mixing in some exercize. I hit 192 pounds a month ago and freaked out. I knew I was getting reallly big. I looked online and almost had freakin' heart failure when it said I was OBESE! I have lost 18 pounds, probably mostly water...but feel much better now and am only going to keep going! Keep on going, you will get results.
