Red face Starting again, really.

Here I am again, the yo-yo queen. I'm 58 years old and weigh about 208 lbs, at least according to the scales at Publix.

My highest weight was probably about 228, from about 1998 to 2008. In '08 I was taking Welbutrien and without trying very hard lost 30 pounds. Good times. But the pounds are starting to creep back up on me, and trying to find pants that fit are making me crazy. Crazy I tell you. Forget about flattering, there is just no way.

My goal is 170. While that's not very thin, I didn't feel like a blimp at that weight. I'm 5'7".

My plan is calorie counting, starting at 1600 per day and even less as I lose more weight. I will concentrate on protein and veggies and avoid sweets like the devils they are.

I went out and bought a pedometer today, too. Tomorrow I'll wear it to see how many steps I take. Then on Tuesday I'll do more. I don't get any exercise except a big staircase at work, so this will help some.

Here we go!

Welcome! 3FC is my secret weapon. I find that posting every day helps me stay accountable and the support is great.

It sounds like you've thought a lot about this and have a good plan. The support here may be the magic ingredient that makes this time different

Lantana, glad to have you join us! Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a Support group, Chat, or Challenge to join. Small groups of friends to help keep you motivated and make it easier to get connected. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Yup, I'm still lurking around for the spot to jump in at. I'll find it, for sure. Thanks.
