Well, I'm not new to the forums as I joined a few years ago, but sadly, I haven't lost ANY weight since then. Sad, I know. But I need help. And this is my truth:
I'm 19 years old
4'11
226 pounds.
I've gained the weight steadily throughout the end of elementary, middle, and high school, and now I'm a sophomore in community college transferring Fall 2011.
My name is Edwina and I need to lose weight - for health and well being purposes.
I need help. We had a fitness test in my PE course at college and things measured out that I was 38% body fat ((((YIKES)))) and out of a 3 minute step test, I only last 1 minute. I was extremely embarrassed in front of my peers, but I have to face the facts.
So I'm posting today to say hi! My name is Edwina. This is a long journey and one that doesn't just begin with posting this message, but I hope, in some way, it's a good start.
We are all here to help so feel free to ask lots of questions.
Do you have a plan yet, for how you are going to loose your weight and get healthy?
Being a college student, BTDT, knowing money can be tight, I would suggest calorie counting. Its free Just a notebook to keep track or use one of the online tracking places i.e. The Daily Plate, My fitness pal......
I wish I had great advice, but I'm just starting, too. One difference, I'm 38 to your 19, but our goal is exactly the same: to lose weight for our health and well-being. Personally, I've started and sidetracked many many times. Finally, i decided to leave the past in the past and start again. We can do it!!! Good luck to you!
Edwina, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Just find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
