Hello all! My name is Michelle (or Michi) and I am a Senior in college just starting out on what I like to call a lifestyle change -- diet sounds so harsh! I'm about the heaviest I've ever been in my life right now and though I lost about 25 pounds two Summers ago, it was through a non-sustainable diet plan of 'rabbit food'.
This time around, I've worked in my favorite foods and have the support of one of my best friends and roomies. Through the month of January we have both been working to eat healthier, though I've only started counting calories for three weeks and today was the first day I was able to get an accurate weight. I've started off extremely modestly with a target goal of 1 pound per week. I tend to get very fanatical and goal oriented, but since I'm focusing on life-long habits and sustainable practices, I want to start off with something manageable and re-assess as I go.
My biggest challenge is having a consistent eating schedule, as I have a very diverse class/work/commitment load from day to day. I also love junk food, fast food, restaurant food... you get the picture. I also struggle getting my boyfriend to eat healthy, as he would rather exercise more and diet less (and I prefer the exact opposite) and he loathes 90% of fruits and veggies.
I'm hoping that this site will be a great tool for me to let off some steam and try some new tips and tricks from those of you who are farther along in your journey than I am. I also would love to share things I've picked up as I find them out

Thanks for reading!
