Hello Everyone!
My name is Sandy and I joined today after months of lurking. I love the support that members show each other and figured that I could definitely use it! I recently decided to do something about all this fat on my body.
Since January 1st, I have lost 20 lbs by simply drinking more water and lowering my fat and sugar intake. I figure with a good plan and lots of motivation, I can reach my goal by summer!
I haven't always been this big, but I was never teensy tiny either. I'm half Latina - and by half, I mean the booty! I've always embraced my curves, but used to be healthy in doing so.
When I had my son almost four years ago, I gained 75 lbs and I haven't lost it yet!
Since then, I've discovered that food is my frenemy! I love it so much and at the same time, I hate it with a passion. I'm sick of this sick obsession I have with it.
I want to be normal again. I want to be healthy.
I miss the girl I used to be and refuse to die while trapped in this body! I'm ready for a new life and I look forward to making new friends here who share the same struggles!
Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
If you've already lost 20 pounds in a month, that sounds like a lot! Most of the experts say that losing 2-3 pounds a week is considered healthy, and that way you are more likely to keep it off and not put it back on. My doctor told me to exercise just 30 min a day. Even if it's 15 in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening.
Good luck with your journey, it looks like you are off to a good start.
Thank you for all the warm welcomes! I appreciate it!
I will definitely work on finding a group that will fit my interests. Not sure where to start, but I will figure it all out!
As far as the exercising... I want to! Lord knows I do! I just don't know how to fit it in to my schedule. Hopefully I will get some good time management pointers as well while I'm here!
