Thumbs up New here!

Hi ladies!

It's not a resolution, but I am ready to start living a healthier life and get a lot of this weight off. I am the heaviest I have ever been, and it is really affecting my mental state something awful. I get depressed quite a lot - have struggled with it my whole life. I have also struggled with my weight my whole life. So, who knows which came first, really.

I don't want to call it a diet - because I want a complete overhaul. I want a lifestyle change. I want to eat well and enjoy it. I want to get moving and exercise and enjoy it. I know it will be hard, but I know it won't last if I don't make it a lifestyle change. I always fail at "diets" in the long run, because I always gain every bit back, and then some. I'm not going to do that this time, because I'm not "dieting."

I'm really looking forward to getting to know people on here, and getting (and giving!) support.

Thanks!

Hey Emmy

I know one can't help but feel down when they are overweight.. I was the same way. In fact, I have those days from time to time. One just must try to stay positive and remind themselves why they are choosing this new lifestyle.
I hope you find 3FC useful as others and myself have. There is much here to read and learn about. You realize you're not alone in this, and the motivation and drive comes naturally.
Good luck and can't wait to hear about your progress.

I totally agree with you, I always seem to put myself on some restrictive diet that is unrealistic in the long run, and I end up failing. I've learned a lot of things from the people here, and I'm sure you will too!! Great to have you!

Thanks guys! I must admit, I still feel a little overwhelmed on here. Not sure which forums to post in, which ones to focus on. There's such a wealth of support and information that I'm getting a little intimidated! Hopefully I'll figure it all out!

Thanks for all the support, and I sure hope I can report good progress in the near future!
