Another newbie here...
Let's see...I'm almost 36, 3 kids, work full time outside the home. We live and work in the Chicago area.
I'm 5' 10". My highest weight was about 4 years ago, when I was in the 240s. I lost about 30 pounds thanks to a combination of Weight Watchers and the insane stress of getting divorced (ironic, I guess, since usually I am a stress eater).
I gained a little back over a couple of years, and had settled in right around 220 (not happily, but I was maintaining). Then a year ago I got pregnant (much to my tremendous surprise and the tremendous surprise of my new husband, who I had married about a month earlier). Horrible all-day morning sickness resulted in a loss of about 12 pounds. My total weight gain was about 30 pounds (18 after you subract out what I lost in the first 4 months), and within 6 weeks of the baby's birth, I was down to about 210. I've packed on 4 more pounds in the last month or so, putting me at 214.
My eating habits are generally completely out of control, and I'm feeling more and more like it's time for me to finally take charge of that part of my life. My mom has been extremely morbidly obese for most of my life, and I absolutely do not want to put myself in that situation. Like many of you, I have a very complicated relationship with food, and my "issues" run deep. I am very much a stress/emotional eater, and one of my hopes is that by joining this group I will be able to use the support system as a way to deal with that stress without eating things that are bad for me.
My first goal is 208 (which will get my BMI below 30 and out of the "obese" category)
Second minigoal: 199 (get out of the 200s)
Third minigoal: 193 (10% weight loss)
Fourth minigoal: 190
Fifth minigoal: 180
Final goal: 170
As an adult, my lowest weight was around 165. That was during college, after I worked hard to lose about 30 pounds. 170 may not end up being entirely realistic for me, but as of right now that's my ultimate goal because that will put me into the "normal" BMI category. I consider myself medium-large boned. Definitely not small boned, but not entirely big-boned either. And 3 babies takes it toll, too.
Anyway, I'm very excited to be part of this community!
