Default Hey There!

Hi everyone,

I am 25 years old and started yet another diet last week. I am the heaviest I have ever been. I started at 207 and am at 203 today. I want to gain control over my life and my happiness by losing weight and showing people who I really am. I have dieted off and on my whole life.

I was in my 130's beginning high school and was very careful about what I ate. My family was always morbidly obese and never tried to do anything about it. They made it very difficult for me and always teased me and were annoyed about accommodating my eating habits. They acted like buying a 1/4 gallon skim milk for me was such a hardship. Anyway, I walked 1.5 miles to school and back everyday and didn't have too much problem keeping the weight off even though I wasn't that active.

I ballooned to 168 by the time I finished high school because I switched schools and lived to far away to walk it. I wasn't involved in any sports or activities that would help me either. And I ate horribly because I wasn't exercising.

In college, I lost some of the weight and was 142. It was a good weight for me, even though I could have lost 15ish more. I was a 10 though and happy.

Once I graduated college and got married, lost privileges to a rec center, and began working at a job where I sit ALL day, I continued to gain weight. I've started 5 or so diets. They've all failed because I set too high of weight lose goals and I compulsively weight myself, like 3 or 4 times a day. I also hate exercise. My husband has also gained 40 pounds since we got married 3 years ago.

So, my strategy is to eat a low calorie diet, while watching my carbs. I put the scale away and will only weigh in once every 2 weeks in the beginning. I need to focus on getting healthy, not the numbers. I have a nature trail near my that I will walk 3-4 times a week with my husband. I am also using P90X CDs faithfully everyday.

This is it. I am going to get real, and get healthy. If I don't do it when I'm young, it will only get harder. I have no excuses. I work full time, but don't have children or many other commitments. I've joined this community and put my goals in writing to help my stick with it.
