Default Just getting started...

So, I am very new to 3FC. I actually just found it no longer than a half hour ago, and I think it is exactly what I am needing right now.

A short introduction of myself...
I go by the nickname of Rainy. I turned 19 back in January. I love dogs and have three, along with a pet rat (Sorry if some think that's gross.). I love to go out and do things whenever I can, whether it's going to a park, hiking, movies, or just out for a drive.

Why I'm here,
I have been struggling with my weight for years, and I'm making another attempt at getting it under control. Okay, not an attempt since it will happen..
I've been working out for two weeks so far, and have been working on my eating habits for a bit over a month (With no results yet..) and I'm hoping to find support here since I don't receive much from my family, or friends for that matter.

Wish me luck, and I hope to make some new friends soon~!

Will do! I'm probably going to be on here a lot from now on. I'll post an update on my own progress in two weeks :]

Hi Rainy and welcome. Best of Luck to you in your journey. You have made one big step in your journey by saying, "that you are not attempting, it will happen". A positive attitude goes a long way. I'm new also, I was looking for shape up shoe info and found a comment from 3FC. I signed up and on June 1st I started my life style change by eating right and walking. (I had made up in my mind mid May that I would do this.) I love to snack whenever I am idle, or not . I found out what my calorie in-take should be and have attempted to stay with it. I went over when I first started just couldn't seem to get it right. I've been doing better and have managed to lose a few pounds. Some may say it's water weight but I am happy with any new lower number on the scale. I have cut out soda, sweets and fried foods, oh and eating constantly all day and all night. I drink tons of water and I've walked almost every evening since I started. If you haven't already done so maybe you could keep a log of what you are eating, how many calories, when you eat and what you're doing when you workout and it may help you to figure out a new strategy to losing. I have read on here where some people have waited until they lost about 20 pounds then started to workout. (I can wait until I lose 20 pounds) I think the walking helps me to ease my mind of something(s) that I may have eaten that I shouldn't have, because I do get that extra unneeded snack in most days. Well these are just things that I do, that seem to be working. I also joined accountability forums, nice to know somebody may be listening/reading Again best of luck to you and all of us in our journeys.

Thank you so much for the advice! I will try some of it out and see how it goes :]

You're welcome , I keep searching the forums for new things. I also joined a challenge. The Ladies there must have been doing it together to reach their goals for some time. I think that gives me an extra push also. I can't wait until I can add the tracker signature. I now have mini goals instead of looking at the big number at the end which seems so far away.

You know I do the exact same thing as far as going for mini goals instead of focusing on the end. When I do focus on the end I get discouraged. I've been struggling for over a year to get down and stay down at about 185 so that's what I'm aiming for right now.

Also, when I found this site I noticed those signature trackers and I said to myself "I must have one of those!" So I made one right off the bat when I got all registered. I can't wait to put it into a signature later. Oh the excitement! :]

Honestly I just learned about the mini goals since I've been on here. I never even heard of setting mini goals, let alone setting them ... who would have thought that would make you more eager to lose weight since it doesn't seem like forever to get to that number. And yes the tracker. ...it's the little things that make us smile.
