Default My Story

<----love this guy

Hello! I'm trying to lose about 35 pounds would love to be part of a support network. Long story short (yeah, right!)....

I had my fourth baby in 2006 and was due to turn 30 years old the following year. I knew I wasn't tiny but I had never thought of myself as overweight prior to that (size 10.) I wasn't so much as concerned with my weight as I was my energy level. I was having a hard time keeping up with the kids and I was tired of being tired. I decided to take up running. I started slowly and worked myself up to 3 miles a day, 4 times a week. I felt awesome and I even lost weight! I don't know why but I didn't expect that to happen and when it did, I decided to then take control of my eating habits.

So in February 2007 I began the Weight Watchers program (at home.) Combined with running, I was down to a size 6 by my 30th birthday and soon after, a size 4.

The start of 2008 to very recently has been a very rough period in my life (separation from my husband due to work which eventually led to marital problems, death of my best friend from cancer, death of my dog who I had had since I was 15 years old, etc.) Over the past 2 years, I have gained all my weight back plus 10 pounds. I am now a size 12.

I have thought over and over about losing the weight, I have started WW over and over only to quit a week or two later...I haven't been able to find motivation.

I am currently struggling with some health issues so it's important for me to get my weight back down. I have always (until this past year) been very healthy and I really took that for granted. I now have high blood pressure at 32 years old. On top of that, I have recently been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis so running is not an option for me at this moment.

With renewed determination, I started back on WW almost 2 weeks ago. I'm excited that it's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't thought about quitting. It's so much easier when you finally decide THIS IS IT!!! I need to get into some type of exercise program...I think I'm going to try biking until I get my feet healed.

So I lied...that wasn't a short story. Regardless, I'm glad to be here!

P.S. While I don't feel great about my body at this particular time in my life, I don't want you to think I have low self-esteem because of my user name! It is just a reference to where I live.

I am so sorry for your losses and your struggles. It is very easy to understand how you gained the weight back. But the good thing is is that the weight is not permanent--- let's get rid of it together! I am glad to hear that you are being strong and continuing with WW, and I wish you much success!
