Hi...I'm new here!

  • Hi there! My name is Mandi, I'm 32 years old and the mother of an amazing 3-yr-old boy...and I really need help. I was mortified the other day at the Dr.'s office when the pretty little nurse that was taking my weight had to move the weight from the 250 mark to the 300!! This is my all time heaviest...I was 180 in HS and I thought I was fat then!! I look at pictures from that time and wish I could go back...I was so pretty!

I CAN NOT get any heavier and I would love so much to get back to my High School 180 (or lower) but I'm afraid it's just a fantasy. I hope that I can find some good motivation on this forum...PLEASE!!
  • Hi Mandi:

I'm new here as well. You can do it if you put your mind to it. It's an old adage, but if you keep telling yourself that, it is possible. Good luck to you in reaching your goal!
  • Thanks...first thing tomorrow morning I will weigh myself and set a resonable short-term goal. I'm actually looking forward to that!
  • Hi, Mandi. Today's my first day here, too. I hope we both succeed and achieve.

Your dream weight *isn't* a fantasy; it's a possibility that you can make come true. Good luck!
  • Take it one step and a time and soon the little steps will add up to big changes. I wish you success...best of luck!
  • Mandi -
Good luck to you. If you are looking for a buddy let me know! Its all about taking it one step at a time
  • You can reach that. It may be a fantasy but how cool is it when we get to fulfill those fantasies? So let's get this party started.
  • Hi Mandi,

I'm new here as of today too. I'm finally making a real effort to lose the "baby weight" (my youngest is 8!). I've tried many things before and got frustrated because the weight is sooo slow to come off no matter what I do. I'm on week 2 of Phase 2 of the SBD and am hoping for some real results this time around.

I'd love to work with some folks here who are just getting started too.
  • Hi Mandi!
I know it feels so overwhelming but if you take it a step at a time, setting mini-goals and making small changes in what you eat and what you do, those changes can lead to big results - plus you have fabulous motivation, to be a healthier and happier you and mom to that precious little one -the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on..

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 30 somethings, the 100lb Club and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
