its different this time

  • i have been pretty much glued to this site for almost a week. you all are so inspiring. i have tried to lose weight more times and in more ways than i can count . sometimes you can just feel when things are different. i quit smoking for the last time on august 17th 2009 :nosmoking:and it felt different that time than all the other times. i feel like that about my weight loss journey this time. my highest weight was 218. monday i started my new life and weighed in at 215. it wasnt that long ago that i was 159. i have walked a mile 5 times this week. i am going to work my way up to a jog for longer than a mile. i have been eating healthier. i was expecting to lose about 3 lbs by weigh in on monday. i felt that i would be doing really well if i met that tiny goal. i weighed myself this morning and was shocked to find i have lost 7 lbs :. i cant wait to see where this path that God has put me on will take me .

    I know what you mean, you can just tell when it's gonna happen - congrats on your success so far (plus quitting smoking) - you're off to a great start with a good plan - the support you need is here - I know you'll be successful in achieving your goal of a healthier you - we'll all be here to cheer you on!

There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the weight loss support forum, it's active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a must for motivation.

    There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

    I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.
