Intro--We Can Do It!! :)

  • Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site, but very excited to be here!

I have gained and lost 100 pounds once or twice, suffered from eating disorders in high school and college, and watched my weight go up and down since I was a child. For the past few years, I have managed to maintain a healthy weight for my height (5'10"), but gained 60 pounds during my last year of graduate school, due to the stress of getting my Master's, raising two small children, supporting my husband's promotions at work, etc. I refuse to resort to unhealthy behaviors again, and want to set a good example of health for my two children, especially my daughter, who is a school-ager now.

I am ready to start fresh, and have decided to try HMR, a medically supervised fasting program with shakes, entrees, etc. My first meeting is next week, and I am not supposed to start the program until then. I can hardly wait! I am hoping to be a great support to others on this site, while getting encouragement from you all as we share our struggles. Also, if anyone else is doing a similar diet, I'd love to hear how you are coping with it.

Good luck to everyone......we can do it!
  • Hi and welcome!

Have you had a look here
    http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/gene...-questions-10/
to see if anyone else is on HMR?

If you can't find any, just ask! We're glad you're here and happy to help.
  • Hi HMR2010!
Sounds like you're ready to get started with a good plan & lots of determination - I know you'll be successful to get back to a healthier you while being a great example for your kids - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee

    Happy Holidays!
  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
