Default Hi, new from Savannah!

Hi, I'm Carlie and I've been working on my weight loss since April. It didn't occur to me to try to get some support until now though. I am 29, live in Savannah GA, and am closing in on my goal, so now is the time I really need to focus.

I know I have a while before I can get one of those cute lil tickers, but basically, one day, I stepped on the scale and it said 198. So I decided to make a change. My friend used to do Weight Watchers so she gave me her books and taught me how to count points and I just did it on my own and then I just got used to smaller portions.

Five and a half months later, I'm at 156. My goal is 140. That has always been my goal weight and I've tried to lose weight before but things have always gotten in the way. Nothing's gonna stop me now!

The Islands are really nice... I've been to Tybee Island and it was a really cute place... Savanah in General is my favorite place... I want to move there... It might just be my obsession with Paula Dean though

Jamie is my favorite... I use to say when I grow up I want to be Paula Dean.... I still say it as a joke...I'm thinking I could be a healthier version... A little less butter maybe....

Welcome to 3FC, Carlie! You'll find lots of encouragement here. Congratulations on your weight loss success so far, and I have no doubt you will meet your final goal.

Love, love, LOVE Savannah! I'm from Biloxi originally but live in Atlanta metro. Made my first trip to Savannah last Thanksgiving and our family has made it our new Thanksiving tradition to travel there, so we'll be back there in November.

My son (who lives in Valdosta) kept insisting we come, as he knows me and knew I would fall in love with it. And he was right!

Welcome Carlie! I have always wanted to visit there. I am also a former Paul Deaner! LOL. Her recipes I still use for celebratory times--just not an entire table of them. Isn't Ruby there too?

Anyway, welcome again and congrats on your progress. I think WW has some really good principles and NSV's. I use many of them myself although I have never joined. Glad you are here.

What do they have going there at Thanksgiving time? Going there for the holiday certainly sounds better than the usual!

Nothing in particular (that I know of, anyway ). My son had been after us to come down there to visit but wanted us to come in July. I said "No way!" and then thought that Thanksgiving weather would be more conducive to a pleasant visit. So we decided to do Thanksgiving there and that's how our "tradition" evolved.

But there's a lot to do and see there over the holidays. On Saturday morning we walked down to the downtown section where all the local stores were having a sidewalk sale. It was a very pleasant shopping experience; much better than being at a mall!
