Default new to the forum

Hi, my name is jen..and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the calorie shifting diet...I don't have the money to do the ************** thing..and i was just wondering what types of food you can eat or not eat...if anyone could give me some advice on how to do it myself i would greatly appreciate it

I don't know about the calorie shifitng diet so I can't help, sorry. Is it calorie cycling or zig zagging? If so, then I am sure there are no restrictions really on foods but more of counting the calories and adjusting the amount here and there.

Hi Jen and welcome!

Yes, that is what I do is calorie shifting. It works really well for me and I am losing about 4 lbs a week. I eat strictly my calorie allotment during the week and saturday morning I weigh in, and ONLY on Saturdays. I also eat anything I want to eat on Saturdays. I just watch my portions and do not overdo it. You still MUST track your calories on those days. I usually only go over 300-500 calories on my cheat day.

There are links on this site for FitDay I think it is called, which will help you monitor calorie intake. I am not positive though, as I use a program called My Personal Diet that is on my Palm Treo. Hopefully someone else can give you some advice on what to use for tracking calories.

It really is simple although it seems overwhelming at first. Also, I would weigh everything you eat, I find measuring cups to be a little too deceitful at times.

thanks guys, and yes i think calorie shifting would be the same as zig zagging or cycling...so, all i really need to do is eat a different amount of calories everyday? and i can eat whatever i want...

Once you enter your info and the such, it will give you the option for a 7 day zig zag cycle. You may want to check it out.

well, I haven't exactly gotten off of calorie shifting...but, lastnight i ate nachos for dinner..and with everything I ate and drank yesterday my calories equaled up to about 2,000 or a little more....today I went to a family gathering and had burgers and cake..so far today I've had 1,228 cals...I started on wed. here are my calorie counts so far...

wed.1169
thur.1064
fri.2000
sat1228

so, I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not..I sure hope so..but, I haven't been hungry..even on my low days I'm not hungry...and I acctually feel too full after the nachos lastnight..and the burgers and cake today...and I refuse to give up even if I have slipped a little..I just start over tomorrow...I'm not really sure exactly what I'm suppose to be eating or when..I am trying this on my own...

my weight right now is 170, I am shooting for 140 by halloween
