Hi. I'm Mari. I've been reading this forum for several weeks for suggestions, inspiration, etc. I am self employed, with a home office, for almost 13 years, and love it. It's given me the freedom to be a mom full time and make a living. I've realized, since I'm at my highest weight ever (including when I was pregnant) and have gone through menopause that my body has changed. In the past, I did my best alone. But, it's become obvious that I need to be a part of a group... I think the accountability I find here could make the difference. I am determined to get healthy because I'm 48 with a 6 year old and have so many things I want to do. My long term goal, honestly, is to be able to learn how to surf (amongst other things).
Hi Mari! I've only been here a week but already have found inspiration and encouragement. I know what you mean about menopause...I'm 47 and still trying to figure out where my metabolism went.
Welcome, EmZee! Yeah, menopause really does a number on us, doesn't it? But it sure is GREAT to be on the other side! LOL
Oh yes, it really is!
Good luck, and be sure to check out the blogs...it's a great way to develop an even more personal one-on-one with people!
Thanks, I will. I've read a few over the past few weeks and will continue. It's really a wonderful idea. I've started one myself, but am not sure what I should keep private and what should be public. I've never had a blog before. Do you find it helpful to your weightloss/healthgain?
