Trying again

  • I was here a couple of years ago and then I just lost track of myself.

I'm 37 and have never had much in the way of energy. I tend to eat the right things, but way too much. My biggest problem is hating to argue with my husband. He LOVES to eat out and I get so tired of saying no all the time that I get lazy and go ahead.

I'm going back to calorie counting. It's the only thing that makes sense for me.

I was thinking about starting the couch to five k program, too but I might be too fat for it.

I need any support I can get. Help!
  • Hi Eiluj!

Nice to meet you - my DH doesn't love to eat out, but he is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and I have a hard time saying no - I love steak and I love potatoes!

Regardless, I'm hoping that by me changing my eating habits, he'll come around and decide to give it a go as well. I hope that you can have some success with your DH and find a happy medium.

I'm doing the calorie counting thing too - it really keeps my mind where it needs to be.

Welcome and I hope I see you around the boards!
  • Thanks, TheMrs. I appreciate the welcome!
  • Hey Eiluj -

Have you seen our Calorie Counters forum yet? It's a wonderful place to settle into if you're a calorie-counter (like me, and you too!)

We also have a group called the 30-somethings, as well as the 100 lb club, for those working toward losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more.

So look around, find a spot, and settle in. Wherever you end up, can't wait to get to know you better!
  • I love calorie counting! We travel a lot, and I incorporated a lot of eating out into my plan.

So, it can be done! Calorie counting is a great life-long strategy that WORKS!

I look forward to reading your posts - come back often!
  • Thanks, mandalinn and CountingDown.

The biggest thing with calorie counting for me is reminding myself what the heck a normal portion looks like!
