Greetings from California

  • Hi everyone, my name is Cindy and I live in the high desert of California. I am married to a wonderful man who has grown with me over the last 12+ years. We both are once again on the road to a much needed lifestyle change. I am a first time grandma and at this point that is a huge motivation. I fear that if I continue I will not be able to be active in his life.

    I could really could use your help. I have struggled with my weight since childhood. Once again I have had enough and have gone on "plan" (I'm so sick of that word). I've been here so many times before and decided I cannot do this on my own.

    My plan is to eat two well balanced meals along with three mini meals or snacks per day. Keeping my calorie intake under 1300. I will use the treadmill daily and bowflex every other day.

    I look forward to being an active member and hope that you will help me stay true to myself.

  • It sounds like you have a good plan, I would plan on starting the day with a healthy , low calorie breakfast. Good luck!

  • Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am finding the site very informative; maybe even a tad bit overwhelming. There are so many different sections to explore but think I have found a few that will really help me on my journey.

    I am a firm believer that you get out of something what you put into it so I will apologize now if I over post. What can I say I have way too much time on my hands. I have also made it very easy to incorporate exercise with reading/posting here on the boards. I have set up my treadmill as a "walkstation". I put the leaf from my dining room table across the arms so I can have my laptop. As I type I am on the treadmill. Takes a bit longer to type (correction of errors) but a good use of time.

  • Thanks Gina, that is where I am now. It really does make the hour go by fast. Won't be able to do this when I increase my speed but for now it is the perfect motivator.
