Hi Everyone! I have been lurking since January and love all of the support on this site! In the first 5 months of 2008, I lost 52 pounds following the WW 123 Success program on my own. Then, my family went on a dream vacation for a week and I have not been able to get back on a plan. I have gained back 14.5 pounds in a month and a half! I hoping that joining here will give me the support I need to get back on track. I've decided to try calorie counting to get me going again.

I am a stay at home mom of two boys and want to set a good example for them and feel better about myself. Since getting married over 15 years ago, I have gained 155 pounds! It is hard for me to even write that sentence. Most of my weight gain, 125 pounds of it, I have put on since having my sons, 7 years ago. I love being a stay at home mom, but I'm afraid the change in lifestyle from Corporate America to being at home led me to eating a lot more than I should! 7 years is a long time to still be complaining about my "baby weight"!

Today, I've decided it's time for me!!!!

Welcome to a great place. Great job on your weight loss (I’m doing WW right now too!). Don’t be too hard on yourself about the weight gain – be proud of yourself for stopping and getting back on track before you gained all the weight back.

I’m also a SAHM for two boys. My oldest is 8 and already seems to be following in my footsteps. It’s important to me to lose weight but also to set a good example for them as well.

I’ve been married 11 years and managed to gain 100 pounds. I’ve made my peace with what I’ve done and have decided instead of living in the past and regretting what I did to myself, it’s time to move on and drop the weight.

Being a SAHM offers so many opportunities to make better choices – getting exercise (including the kids in bike rides, hikes, etc.) and making better food selections.

Wow! Congratulations on the 52 lb loss - that's amazing! I'm on WW, too -- I'm still learning how to take those "curve balls" (i.e., vacations, visitors from out of town, celebrations, BBQs, etc.) and stay on (or get back on) plan. It's SO tough!

Welcome to 3FC!

Default Welcome to 3FC!

Glad you decided to join the boards and to get back on track!

You can do whatever you really want....just look at losing those 52 pounds in 5 months! WONDERFUL!!!

I am a calorie counter that has found food recording is key for me (fitday.com is a great place for that). I am sure you will find lots of options from folks on this board. Keep persisting, you will find the strategies that work for you.

Hey and welcome :] I saw this website a few weeks ago and then after seeing some pics I decided to join as well! I have also tried WW but I think calorie counting is easier. Good luck to you!

Smile Thanks

Thanks for your support and kind words. I am still having trouble getting back on track, but I'm determined not to give up. Somehow in the first 5 months of this year, I managed to give up emotional eating and followed WW to the letter. Now, I just use every little bump in the road as an excuse to reach for food. The house is almost completely wiped out of junk food now, so things should be easier.
