Smile Hello!

Hi There,
I am so glad that I found this "active" group! There are alot of weight loss groups out there that are great for awhile but seem to die off. I need someplace that is active and happening (unlike myself-that's why I am here......).
I need to have somewhere to brag, complain, share goals and accomplishments and whine to people that REALLY understand me.
I am a 36 year old mom of 2 kids and happily married to an insane man who thinks that I am perfect the way I am. I have been losing and gaining weight my whole life. I was a competitive cheerleader in high school and captain of the team for 4 years. My personality shows it..my body..not so much!
I just recently had a TAH (total abdominal hysterectomy) 4 months ago and am still trying to recover from that. I put on 40 lbs in the year that I was waiting for the surgery from being on medication (that is another whole crazy story in itself!)
I have started back at the gym and am working my butt off!! I still have no feeling in my tummy, but that will come back in time.
My current "diet" is Slim Fast twice a day and eating a meal at supper time. No eating after dinner and nothing to drink but water and coffee. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I am on it and I am down 6 lbs so far.

Well..that's my big long babble about me..I am glad to be here and look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi there . . . . . . it is definitely a happening place around here . . . have you discovered the SlimFast thread in General Diet Plans yet? there's also a 30-Somethings forum and a Crazy Canuks Cluck Club (both in Support Groups) . . . and that is just the very tip of the 3FC iceberg, Chickie. Have fun.

Hi and welcome! I have tried doing Slimfast also. I find I'm not so good with food choices, so Slimfast tells me to eat 2 bars and then dinner, and that's it. So in that sense I can be fine through dinner. After dinner, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I tend to eat what I shouldn't. What do you do if you're hungry after dinner?
And again - welcome!

I am usually not hungry after dinner. I usually eat around 6:00 and then just don't eat after that. I drink ALOT of water, so I am assuming that fills me up. My biggest BAD habit to kick was eating chips at night while watching tv. Chips are my favorite. If I could, I would only eat chips to survive
It's to the point now that I am so determined to lose weight, that I don't want to dare eat even one because I know that I won't stop. At first I couldn't have them in the house but last night I bought my son a big bag and didn't even want one.
I do go to bed fairly early though (around 9:00) so maybe that's why I am not having a hard time with after dinner snacking?

Welcome, S. Magee! (I like your name)

I love chips too, but fortunately I also really like crunchy veggies, so I'll have a big handful of carrots and two chips with them --- something about that taste combo is really good! I too like that this site is always hoppin'. Good luck with your healthy journey!
