Hi Jill!!

I live in N.C. too, I am near Greensboro, and am also 39 yrs old.
I am a member of the 100 pd club on the support group, and they are a great bunch of gals and guys there, so check us out.
Like you most of my life I have had weight issues, has some succes in my late teen, early college years, but after the kids the weight would pile on and everytime I would loose a little, I would stop gain what I lost back and then gain more. I went from 160 to my highest this spring of more than 279 pounds( I didn't get a scale until a few weeks into eating better and exercising.
Now why is this working when in the past it hasn't worked? I ask myself this almost daily. I guess I was tired of having no energy, swollen feet, back pain, my daughter coming home in tears, because her classmates said I was fat, the self-hate, only buying clothes in a few stores.
I am not giving my money to anyone, what is working, is watching calories( I use fitday.com ), I started out eating about 1800 calories a day, and have lowered it to 1600 and under right now. I also started using my elliptical trainer, at first I could only do 2-3 minutes

, and slowly started working my way up to 40 minutes 5-7 days a week.
It is hard, there are days I don't want to exercise, there are days , when I have stress, I feel like going into the kitchen and binging on food, but I know in the end I will hate myself, and it is not worth it.
I hope this has helped you at least a little and you find what is good for you. I beleive you can do anything if you want it bad enough.
