Hi
MKLADY . . .

from a fellow Canadian and one who is older than you are. I'm originally from Toronto but have been living in Nova Scotia for about 13 years now.
You've come to the right place for lots of support as you travel down the long bumpy road to better health and fitness. I know you'll love it here once you get the hang of it. This is a very big site and it can be a little overwhelming at the beginning, but just take your time and have a good look around . . . but don't be shy . . . just jump right in and start posting wherever something catches your attention. You will alsways receive a very warm and welcoming

wherever you decide to visit.
To answer a couple of your questions . . .
The
forum community is what comprises most of 3FC and it is a huge area with lots and lots of individual topics called
threads which are arranged into various forums and sub-forums each of which tends to deal with a particular major area of interest. Each thread consists of numerous
posts from various members, usually responding to something brought up by the original poster who opened the thread.
For example, this thread was started by amandav81. Then hellokitty81668came along and posted a response to amandav81. Then you popped in and posted some questions of your own and now I'm posting a response to you.
A weight ticker is that little graphic device at the bottom of posts that indicates weight loss (among other possibilities). If you click on the
link originally in hellokitty's post . . . you'll be taken to an area where Suzanne (our chief Chickie - one of the three sisters who originally started 3FC) explains the topic quite thoroughly. There is also some good beginner information in the
Stickies at the top of this
Introductions Forum that you may find helpful.
The
Journal area is kind of a predessessor to the Blogs and it is still around because there are a few people who use it regularly. It is like one big communal Blog and has now been replaced by the full-fledged Blog area. I know we have some devoted bloggers who would be happy to supply more information.

Personally, I spend most of my time in the Forum Community.
After you digest some of that stuff, I hope you will also come over and join us in the
Crazy Canuks Cluck Club where a lot of Canadians hang out and chat. Here is a link to the current May thread . . .

Well, I'll shut up now, before you get completely worn out just reading all of this. Hope you have a great moving and shaking evening, chickie . . . and also hope that we will be seeing you around here regularly now that you've found us . . .
