Hello,

I am new to this site and I am excited to see all the support going around. I am 31 years old and I am at the point where it's now or never. I had my first child when I was almost twenty and I never lost the weight I gained. With my second child I gained very little and lost it all two days after she was born. My joke is that I still haven't lost the baby weight from my first born. What's not a joke is that she is going to be twelve in a week. Because I was so young when I put on the weight I don't know what my ideal "adult" weight should be. I have a guesstimate based on the recommendations, but I just don't know what I am supposed to be. So....my initial goal will be to lose thirty pounds and reach 140. Then I will take it from there.

For a long time I didn't reach out because I saw my 30 pounds to lose as insignificant and trivial compared to those needing to lose much more. I didn't feel worthy of asking for support. Well, it's time for me to ask. Just today I put IN PEN dates with a friend at the health club for the next month. And here I am blogging with all of you. Progress!

Your 30 lbs are NOT insignificant. Everyone here has weight to lose, and we all support eachother. Good for you for reaching out!

I've had to guesstimate my healthy adult weight too, so thats pretty common here. You can always adjust as you get closer.

Look around, settle in, and get comfy. And keep those health club dates! Better yet, join us in the Exercise Accountability thread in the Exercise forum, and we'll help make SURE you keep them.
