Thanks everyone. On day 2. All the pills with such little food seem to be making me a bit nauseous. Nothing too bad, but definitely annoying. The foods are not my favorite either. I have had the vanilla pudding, the herb omelette, the veggie chili, the vanilla shake, and the chicken noodle. So far I would probably skip all of them. But I guess this is what i have to go through to lose! No major headaches yet so that is a relief. I heard week one is the hardest!
The packets can get a bit boring, and I found I didn't like a lot of them as is. But you can use them in lots of creative ways.
If you haven't checked the recipe links, here are a couple you might like:
I'm on day #3 and didn't have a headache today. Ive noticed I'm not as hungry when i have the oatmeal for breakfast. my goal is 40 lbs in no particular time limit.
Hi JillieMac, I started on the 28th and I'm now the same weight as you. I also want to be anywhere around 140-150. My little brother is getting married in September so as long as I lose it by mid July, I'll have enough time to get my bridesmaid dress altered. Right now I'm doing alternatives with the IP supplements but I'm thinking of going back to regular IP. I really enjoyed their packets.
Good luck
Hi Katie8810,
this is my first time on IP. i've done many other programs that are protein based, low carb. I think we can get there. I've only tried the oatmeal, peanut butter bar and trail mix. i should try some other options when i go in for my first weekly visit next week. which ones do you prefer?
Week 3 on IP and I'm down 13 lbs! I was wondering if anyone else had snuck in some Adkins foods? I was desparately needing some chocolate and found some peanut butter cups that are really good. I figure they won't get me out of ketosis, just add a few calories.
Hey Jillie, my favourites are the chocolate shake warmed up, mint chocolate bar and bbq crisps. The chocolate soy puffs are really good too 😊 Good luck to everyone this weekend!
Glad to see everyone is doing pretty well in their first few weeks! I can't wait to get to start up at the end of the month...that is if my cardiologist lets me!
I go tomorrow for my first weigh in. No more headaches as of a couple of days ago. I found some foods I like, including the mango ready made drink, the maple oatmeal, the chocolate wafer, and the BBQ chips. I also made the "tabbouleh" that the IP video outlined this week and it was really good!!! My husband and son loved it too.
7.6 pounds down the first week! About to go to my second weigh in on Tuesday and I think it will be 2-3 more pounds down. I have 30 pounds total I want to lose so I am super happy that almost a third will be gone in two weeks. I know it will slow down but it took me two months on Jenny Craig to lose 10 pounds so this is so fun and motivating. I am not hungry, and now that I have found the IP things I like, the week is much easier. Here are my favorites: Chocolate chip pancakes (with Walden Farms syrup--purchased on amazon), chocolate brownie (restricted), BBQ chips, vanilla rice crispy bars (amazing and not restricted!), chocolate wafer cookies (double restricted so careful!), and maple oatmeal. My husband is making me the cauliflower "rice" tonight (recipe provided during the IP coaching video that I got this week) so I am curious to see how it is.
Why are all the foods I like on the restricted for double restricted list??? My coach never said anything about the lemon wafers, but just looking at the nutrition info they've got to be double restricted. And I've already eaten two in the past three days! I'm going to have to avoid the wafers. They are too yummy.
Congrats on your super loss the first week ARF! I've lost almost 7 pounds in the first two weeks and I have a feeling it's going to slow down to about 2 pounds a week -- especially if I keep eating the lemon wafers. I better stick to soups (most of which I don't care for) and puddings.
Yes, unfortunately, the lemon and chocolate and orange wafers are some of the double restricted. But try the vanilla crispy squares. They are pretty good and not restricted! I love them for breakfast with my coffee. They totally feel like a treat. Congrats to you PRgal with the 7 pounds! I definitely think this week will be much less. Hopefully 2. But I have read on many posts that week 2-3 can be a bit slower. Good news is I don't feel so inflated and I am feeling good about the foods I am eating. Very healthy dinners, which is a big change for me. I do miss my cheese enchiladas though! I can't lie. The best part is I haven't cheated since I started. That's a milestone for me since I have always cheated a bit on weekends when I was on WW or Jenny Craig. Hence why I am doing IP now
PS I hated each and every soup. So for breakfast I have been doing the chocolate chip pancake (with Walden Farms syrup which is good!), or maple oatmeal, or the mango ready made smoothie. For lunch, I have been doing the vanilla crispy bar or I do the BBQ chips and crunch them up in my salad. And then dinner is protein and veggies. I wish I had liked the soups but no such luck.
I'm through Day 15 now and had my second coach visit today. down 10 lbs so far. my coach was happy with my numbers and i am too. it seems each visit I find out something new i can have. today it was powerade zero. this is a nice alternative to plain water. although i used to down gatorade as is, i have to water down this powerade as it tastes like liquid jello to me. anyone else have this same thought?
That's awesome. I had my second week coach visit yesterday and I am down 10 too. Feels great! Tonight I had chicken with a mustard/leek sauce but I think leeks might not be permitted. Oops. My IP list says onions (raw only).
I tend to stick with the shakes, puddings, chips and i love the chocolate wafers as my treat. I get my variety with veggies and that dab of protein for dinner. But I'm not hungry and the results keep me going with my willpower! Down 19 in 5 weeks!
I made mashed cauliflower last week with roasted garlic and it was great. (as veggies go...)
I started on the same date but i'm having a lot of issues. I lost 3.4# the first week, 0.4# the second week and 2.0# the third week. I play roller derby and practice 3-5 times a week on a level that is considered "intense" according to IP. I think I'm fluctuating in and out of starvation mode with my body. The only reason I lost 2 pounds between week 2 and 3 is because they put me on the "alternative" phase 1 with toast, an apple and cottage cheese added. I'm giving this one more week and if i don't see better progress or feel better I'm going to do my own thing and have my derby girls keep me accountable. I have all the knowledge and skills, just need the support and accountability.
